Rocco goes in one truck, and I go in the other. Both have men hidden in the back, as well as weapons and the bombs Doug and the guys rigged up.

It takes us twenty-five minutes to reach the location the other guys are at, a little down the road from the ranch Titch was taken to.

“Any intel?” Rocco asks, and Doug nods.

“We heard gunfire before, so me and Stretch went on foot to get a closer look. There’s a large old house. Looks like it’s seen better days but the lights are on and it’s filled with Reapers. The old barn is too. Their banner is hanging on the front of the barn, and the gunfire was just them getting trigger-happy at trees.”

“And Titch?” I ask, but they shake their heads.

“We couldn’t see any of the guys they loaded into the van. They must be in the house or barn.”

Rocco and I share a look.

“Another thing.” Doug speaks up, and we turn back to him. “Our cell phones had no reception the closer we got to the house. Is it possible they have some sort of signal jammer on? Is that even a thing?”

Rocco and I turn to Tex, who is nodding. “Yeah, they could be blocking signals, which would explain why we lost Titch’s tracker.”

“Okay, let’s get this done.” Rocco stands taller, and all eyes fall to him. “You all know your jobs. They remain the same, the difference is how we deliver it. Slasher, are you good? Clear-headed?” he asks and our heartbroken brother curls his lip in a snarl.

“I am ready to seek fucking revenge.”

“Okay,” Rocco nods, knowing that’s the best he’ll get from Slasher right now. “Stretch and Doug, you’re on explosives duty. I want those buildings rigged up ready for mine or Gray’s order.”

They both nod, and Rocco continues.

“The rest of us split up. You half focus on the barn,” he divides the group with a point, “And you half focus on the house. No matter who it is, if you see Titch, you get him the fuck outta there. Save the recruits if you can but make peace with the fact that they may have to be collateral damage.”

Everyone nods, and Rocco returns it. “Let’s fucking end this.”

Stretch and Doug take one of the trucks and position it closer to the property, while the rest of us go on foot, navigating in the dark. With more stealth than I thought this bunch of brutes could manage, we slink onto the property, right up to the tree line surrounding the buildings, surprised to see they don’t have any lookouts.

Either they are dumb, or complacent that they are unfindable up here, but whatever the reason, it bodes well for us.

I spot Doug and Stretch nearby, huddled by a tree, and Doug mouths something and points to the barn. Frowning. I shake my head, unable to figure out what he’s trying to say.

“Tex?” I snap quietly, and he comes to my side. “Doug is trying to tell me something. Go and see what it is. We will stay back until I have that information.”

“Got it,” Tex whispers, ducking into the shadows and making his way from tree to tree until he reaches Doug.

Rocco shares another silent look as we wait, before Tex returns.

“From where Doug and Stretch are, they can see inside the barn. The recruits are in there. Titch too. They are with the same eight Reapers from earlier, but now they are all fucking Reaper cunt.”

“They’re buttering them up,” I whisper, rolling my shoulder as the ache starts up again, and Rocco nods.

“Tell Doug to focus on rigging up the house. Leave the barn for now.”

Nodding, Tex hurries back being our messenger since we have no cell service this close, and then with a wave of his hand, we all step out of the tree line, and open fire on anyone we come across.

The sound of popping gunfire increases as the Reapers inside the house and barn come outside to attack, and in an instant, we are at war.

Rocco and I storm the barn, shooting every Reaper that aims at us only to find Titch inside, doing the same. I don’t know how he got a fucking weapon, but I’m sure fucking glad.

Women scream and they scurry to hide, as do most of the recruits, who have no fucking idea what’s going on.

A Reaper comes out of nowhere, charging at me with a raised ax, but I shoot him between the eyes before he can get close enough to use it, and we make it to Titch’s side.

“You okay?” Rocco asks him, and Titch nods.
