Xavier nodded. “It’ll take some time, but yes, eventually his memory will return.”

“So what now?” Phantom demanded. “How long until he’s up on his feet and out of this dump?”

“And more importantly,” said Isaac. “How the hell are we going to keep him safe?”

“You’re worrying about the wrong things,” Finn responded, earning honest, confused looks from everyone except Xavier. “Unc has done a pretty fine damn job keeping me hidden, so my safety is the least of your concern. It’ll be a few days before the vet will let me start moving around more, but Unc and I both agree that I should stay put here for the time being. My mom will be here with me. She’s out stocking up on supplies as we speak, and Unc has Sharkey working on getting security cameras set up around the perimeter. I’ll be fine.”

“I want access to those cameras,” Phantom said, narrowing his sight on Xavier. “Model, serial numbers, everything.”

“Consider it done. Once Sharkey arrives with the equipment, I’ll have him call you.”

“So…” Finn let that one word linger in the air as he leveled what he could of his battered stare between me and the guys. “Ginger and Jace.”

I swallowed hard, my breath shaking when he did another sweep through our faces, locking eyes with me and only me.

“What are you going to do to save them?”

My heart fell straight to my ass.

He knew.

Fuck. He knew.

And I bet my left fucking kidney if he knew about them, then that meant Xavier had told himeverything.

“You told him?” Rhett glared incredulously at his father.

“Are you out of your fucking mind?” Isaac growled. “Hejustwoke up.”

“You can argue later,” Finn hotly admonished, cursing as the monitors behind his bed began freaking the fuck out.

“Griffin,” Xavier called out softly. “Calm, dear nephew. You have to remain calm.”

Nobody spoke as Finn continued—or tried to continue—breathing at an even pace. Finally, when thebeepsreturned to normal, he said, “Tell me what you know about where she’s being kept. Who she’s with.”

The guys and I exchanged looks, and nothing but dread ran down my spine when all six of their combined eyes fastened on me, their pleas unanimously silent.

Fuck. Why did it have to be me?

“How about this?” he offered when I didn’t answer right away, snapping his gaze over to Rhett. “What did Jace tell you? He contacted you first, yes?”

Rhett nodded, his frown deepening. “Yes.”

“And?”

“He called and said he was at the club. That he received a phone call on the landline from someone named Smoke. Claimed he was calling on behalf of Ginger, to warn him.”

“He told you she was pregnant,” Finn continued, fishing but not really. “That she believes Damien put a hit on him.”

“Yes.”

“What else did he say?”

Rhett scratched the back of his head, thinking harder on it. “He told me to tell Samara that Ginger would be reaching out to her soon. And there was something else too. Fuck, what did he say her name was…” Rhett paused, snapping his fingers like the words were on the tip of his tongue.

“Lena,” I finished for him, having memorized the text Jace had sent me word for word. “Jace said Ginger is with Lena and Smoke.”

Finn’s eyes grew painfully wide then, his skin paling like he’d just seen a ghost. “Lena Montgomery?”
