“Where is the “Hi Millie, what have you been up to today, I’ve not seen you in two days,” I say sarcastically and he sighs.

“Hello beautiful.” He laughs down the phone, and I instantly smile. My stomach is doing little flips, even though we’ve seen each other almost every day. He has been a true gentleman, which is getting a little annoying, if I’m totally honest. I think it really freaked him out how badly Glen hurt me. I can’t blame him really, but he seems to have taken it that if he touches me, I may break. I mean we sit on the sofa watching movies and he moves away from me when I have wandering hands. I need to sort this out, I’m so horny, it’s ridiculous, and now he is away for three days, maybe I should give him a little treat before he goes…

“I’m on my way back now, I’ve got a surprise to show you, I should be there in half an hour,” I say but can hear his sigh on the other end. “What time are you going?” I ask.

“The limo has just pulled up, we are off in about five minutes.” I can hear how sad he is.

“I’m sorry, my surprise took a little longer than I thought. I won’t get to see you for three more days!” I hate the thought. It’ll be five days since we’ve not been able to see each other! It sucks.

“Five days… I’m not sure I’ll survive not seeing you for that long.” This makes me smile.

“Nor me…”

Chapter nineteen

Party Time

Jack

“I’m not fucking wearing that!” Dan shouts and laughs at the same time. We flew out to Ibiza yesterday afternoon. When we landed, I had him blindfolded and handcuffed to an inflatable blow-up man. I’ve rented an exclusive villa just outside of the main strip, perched on the seafront with an infinity pool looking out to the sea. We could have stayed at my place but there are twelve of us, it’s going to get messy and I like my villa the way it is.

Yesterday, we took Dan to a few bars and clubs; some of the locals and other bar owners gave us VIP treatment because we know them so well after almost ten years of being on the island. He was so drunk we had to carry him back!

I actually think he is still half-cut today! The main event has not even started yet; god forbid I ever get married because payback will be a bitch after what I have planned for him! I know he is marrying my sister and all, but I have to get revenge somehow. Plus Em knows all about it, she even helped me plan it. Chuckling to myself, I look over to see Dan’s face, a picture of shock, excitement and maybe a little fear.

“No way, is it just me dressing up? You can’t do this to me? Please?” Everyone was looking at the outfit; they had no idea what I have planned because none of them can keep a secret.

“We all have something to wear, it’s not just you, but yours is by far the worst.” I laugh as they all turn and look at me at the same time.

“But it’s a rainbow tutu, fairy wings, fake boobs in a bikini top and a tiara.” I’m not sure he believes what he is seeing.

“Oh, don’t forget these…” I hand him a bag he has to carry for the night; it’s a furry kitten bum bag, and inside are the tasks he has to complete over the weekend, nothing too offensive, and a few extras “take a look, see what’s in it”.

“You have got to be kidding me, face glitter, hair clips, and…oh my god! I can’t do these things, Em will have my balls on a plate if she ever finds out! You do remember who I’m getting married to don’t you?”

Taking a swig of my beer I tell him, “All Emma approved.” We clink bottles, this is the best reaction I could have hoped for.

A few hours later, we are all dressed in rainbow-coloured t-shirts, each with a different picture of Dan on it, ranging from drunk photos, naked baby pics, and life events over the last few years, all slightly humiliating to him. We ordered pizza at the villa along with waitresses, a fully stocked bar, and a little light entertainment before we head out for the night. Dan is so embarrassed by all the attention, it’s great. Just watching him get pulled up to dance, and be made a part of the firebreather entertainment while dressed as a fairy is one of the best moments ever. All throughout, I am taking plenty of photos and sending them to Em.

There is a nice surprise for him later though, one I had not planned but will work well for us both. I can’t help but smile to myself.

Millie

To my utter surprise, everything went really well; meeting Charlie was almost like old times. We talked and have promised to keep in touch; she even said she would come down to see me when it’s all settled to celebrate with me. I can feel my old self coming back, just having her around for a few hours today has brought back so many good memories of who I was and who I want to be again.

She checked out the house while I stayed back but there was no sign of him. The locks were changed by the locksmith, and a new security system was put in place, all of which Charlie and I have control over.

Em arranged for the estate agent to meet us there and it’s all sorted. They know the details and the house will be on the market as of Monday morning. I know it will make him angry when he gets back and finds he is locked out, but it’s my house and was my parents’ before that. It was a happy home, before him.

As we are heading back in the cab, Em’s phone starts ringing. It’s her best friend Jane on the other end and from the look on her face, something has gone wrong.

“What? You have to be kidding me, how can they do that? It’s my hen do.” Tears stream down her face as she talks.

“What’s wrong?” I ask, trying to guess what has happened.

“It’s all been cancelled!” she says between sobs, “how…how could they? Why?” Her hand coming up to her face, and slumping back in the seat.

“What? Why?”How could they ruin her day like this? What are we going to do?
