“You have the blood of an alpha, Sebastian. Your gut feeling and sixth sense are more heightened than most, and I would not lie to you. If you felt a connection with someone, that means it exists.”

“But I can’t stop her from becoming a werewolf?” I sighed, unable to believe that the situation was this hopeless. I was not used to that feeling.

“You can’t. This is her destiny now, and you must tell her about this before her body begins acting in ways she fails to understand.”

“How much time do I have? How much time does she have?”

“No longer than two weeks. She will transform after that.” Carlos spoke as clearly as possible, but I felt like questioning him again.

“Two weeks. Thank you, Carlos.”

I ended the call and placed the phone back on the table, my mind on Alexandra. Carlos was right, I needed to tell her as soon as I could, or everything would crumble. I couldn’t leave her in the dark to figure things out for herself. She needed to know, and she needed to hear it from me.

Chapter seven

Alexandra

I jumped up from the bed as a soft knocking filled the room. Who could it be? I knew I should have been more careful when opening my door, but I felt an overwhelming compulsion to eliminate the wooden barrier. It had to be Sebastian. The revelation gave me chills as I realized I could feel Sebastian was nearby. I shook my head as the knocking resumed, and I quickly opened the door.

“Sebastian,” I whispered the moment our eyes met. For a few seconds, my heartbeat accelerated before it calmed down as if seeing Sebastian on my threshold was the most normal thing ever.

A burst of happiness filled me as if I had been waiting for him, which was certainly not the case. I had longed for his presence, but I had almost been certain that he would not show up.Who cared much about a one-night stand? The fact that he was standing in front of me filled me with both happiness and hope.

“Alexandra,” he smiled, completely at ease. He was still dressed in the same clothes from this morning, but his messy hair was enough to tell me that he had run his fingers through it multiple times, perhaps out of exhaustion or frustration.

“What are you doing here?”

“I have obviously come to see you.”

“But why?”

“Alexandra, I don’t want to lie to you about anything. I don’t know what it is about you, but parting felt like a crime. I can’t stay away from you, and I want to spend some time with you so I can get to know you, and you can get to know me. I understand if you have problems with this, but I truly do like you.”

“You do?” I asked, perhaps sounding completely stupid as Sebastian smirked.

“Do you doubt it? I’m standing on your doorstep, asking you to let me spend time with you.”

“I don’t doubt it, but I’m still confused,” I replied.

“About what?”

“Why we feel this way toward each other,” I said, no longer trying to conceal my emotions.

“So, you feel the same way?” he asked, an easy smile dancing on his lips.

“I do.”

Before I can say anything else, he steps inside the room, his hand sliding around my waist as he closes the door with his foot. I look into his eyes and he bends down, taking my lips in and kissing me passionately as if that was his only purpose in life. I quickly cupped his neck with my palms and began to kiss him back, lost in his touch and scent.

Why does he feel like home?I wondered.

I know I shouldn’t be this trusting of him, but my heart agrees. Every cell in my body prompts me to trust him and to lean into the electric pulse drawing me to him. I want him. I need him beside me. The ease and comfort he filled me with made me feel things I hadn’t felt before.

“Alexandra, you have no idea how perfect you are,” he whispered against my lips, and I laughed, backing away slightly.

“Really?”

“Yes,” he said, easily picking me up in his arms as he carried me to the bed. I let him lift my hoodie over my head and he quickly supported my breasts before taking one hardened peak in his mouth, tugging at it softly.
