I felt elated as his legs wobbled slightly as he finished. He pulled my head away, sinking down on the bed before pulling me up onto his lap. He had a huge grin on his face.
“That was fucking amazing! Thank you, sweetheart!” he said before kissing me deeply.
My insides buzzed in triumph. I felt like a bloody sex goddess! Ha, dignity restored!Go girl!It seemed that inner devil of mine was very pleased with my efforts!
“Just paying you back for waking me up so nicely!” I told him with a grin.
He rewarded me with another lingering kiss before eventually pulling back to look at me.
“While I would love us to continue this, we have some calls to make, and I have a meeting to go to soon,” he said, sighing, before gently moving me off his lap.
“Right, of course,” I jumped up and headed to the wardrobe, looking for some clothes.
I bent over to pick up some underwear from the bottom drawer.
“Gorgeous!” he said, and his hand stroked my bare ass. I jumped and squeaked in shock.
He chuckled as I grabbed the rest of my clothes and ran for the bathroom, embarrassed again. I slammed the door and locked it again as he laughed loudly once more.
That bugger!I pouted as I dressed. He had me going from sassy and confident one minute to shy the next and then back again! I needed to stop getting so embarrassed around him. After all, the things we had been doing didn’t feel embarrassing at the time, so why should I be embarrassed when we stopped doing them? It was stupid.
‘No more embarrassment!’I thought firmly before striding out of the bathroom, head held high, sporting a haughty look, and tossing my hair as I threw his T-shirt at him. With my sassiness on full display again, and before I could chicken out, I walked straight over to him, pulled his head towards me, and kissed him hard on the lips, loving the shocked look on his face.
“Let’s go make those calls!” I called over my shoulder as I flounced out the door, leaving him standing staring at me. Another score for my dignity!
He caught up to me as I flounced along the hall and grabbed my hand in his.
“You continue to surprise the hell out of me, Gracie,” he said, winking as I peeked up at him from under my lashes.
I couldn’t help the big grin I sported as we headed downstairs, but I was pleased to see that it matched his own.
We had a quick breakfast and then headed to Ash’s office. As soon as we got there, I called the Bell Tavern, pretending to be sick. I hated letting Gina down at short notice like this, but luckily, another staff member who’d been on holiday had returned, so it wasn’t an issue.
Then we chatted about what we should tell Derrick, and I agreed wholeheartedly when Ash stated he should talk with him first. I was more than okay with that because it meant he could tell Derrick as much or as little as he was comfortable with, and I didn’t need to worry about divulging too much information.

SUNDAY MORNING - GETTING DERRICK ONSIDE
As soon as we got to my office, Gracie called in sick at work, and then we discussed what to say to Derrick.
She agreed to let me talk to him first, and so I gave his mobile a call.
He answered immediately.
“Where the hell is she? She’d better be okay, or you will be dealing with me!” he ground out.
“She is with me, and she is safe,” I told him firmly.
“Give me your address; I am coming over now to see for myself,” he stated.
“No need,” I said, but he was insistent. I thought he would be.
He was determined to ensure Gracie was safe, and I respected him all the more for that, so I told him our address.
While we waited for him to arrive, Gracie and I talked about our lives and made out like teenagers as I sat in the chair behind my desk with her on my lap.
