“Oh,” he says, and now it’s his turn to blush. “That’s a big dick, Braxton.”

“I know. I bought it to practice for you,” I say, and Jimbob’s blue eyes hit mine.

“I’d sure like to see you use this.”

He tosses the beads aside and Abra-ham grabs on to them and bolts from the room.

I gasp and chase after him, but he’s already out the doggy-door and heading to Jimbob’s dad’s place. I will die if Ryan catches the pig with those.

Jimbob is chuckling behind me as we run after Abra-ham, and I dive for him before he can enter the house. Jimbob grabs the beads from his squealing mouth and shoves them in the pocket of his overalls.

“God,” I say with a wheeze. “Thank you.”

“Curious how these things work,” he says, patting his pocket.

“Well, since you saved me the embarrassment of Ryan getting a hold of them, then I’ll have to show you.”

Jimbob grins at me and leads me back to our place and into the bedroom. He shuts the door and locks it before grabbing the dildo.

“We have to unpack,” I say, already getting excited and my argument falls flat.

“Yeah, it can wait. I didn’t know you had a box of sex toys. You’re keeping secrets from me, Braxton.”

I roll my eyes, but they droop shut when he crowds me and leans in to kiss me.

“I love you,” he says softly, and my heart flutters at that. “I love that we’re starting a life together like this. Love that you’re my present and my future.”

I sigh against him, drinking up his sunshine, and can’t help but admit it.

“I love you too.”

The farmer’smarket is crazy today. Probably because it’s one of the last ones before the weather changes and everyone is soaking up the outdoors before the ground freezes and it becomes almost unbearable to go outside.

I glance to my right and see Braxton helping hand out some milk and eggs to a paying customer and feel my chest tighten in happiness. Hell, I’m glad he’s mine. He’s so perfect for me. Even though he can be a little doom and gloom at times, I can tell that my sunshine-y demeanor is affecting him. He smiles more and laughs a lot. And today, he’s even wearing a gray shirt.

Progress.

Not that I want him to change, but I want him to be happy. I want him content.

I want him to see that life isn’t all that bad. That there is good everywhere.

“Hey, brosif,” Ryan says as he suddenly attaches himself to my side and ruffles my hair. I sigh and try to elbow him away, but he just latches on.

“Where’s Beck?” I ask, and Ryan frowns.

“Selling cheese. My cheese.”

“Go help him then,” I say, and he bites my shoulder, his feet completely off the ground now. He’s holding on to me like a koala, and I swear that this is not normal.

“He told me to come over here for a bit. Said he needed space.”

“Were you hanging off him like you are me?”
