The man smiled at him, before leaning down to capture his lips. It was a quick, gentle kiss, but it was full of promise. “Will.” The teasing edge of his voice, dispelled some of the fear gripping him.

“Awe,” Angie cooed from beside him.

“What are you doing here?” Will asked.

Kristen patted the empty chair at their table. “Have a seat Robert.”

He did and turned to Will. “Did you get my message?”

Will shook his head, it must’ve come in after he sent the last one. “Sorry.”

Robert grinned. “Don’t be. I had an issue with the club. It started late last night, but that’s neither here nor there. I’ve been running around all day working to resolve the problem. I got done a bit ago and figured I’d stop by here, get some of that spicy Buffalo shrimp you were telling me about last night. And surprise you at your place.”

Angie kicked him with her foot when his mouth opened and closed a couple of times.Holy shit.

“Imagine my surprise when I saw you here,” Robert stated before he snagged the last shrimp off the plate and popped into his mouth. “Damn, you’re right. These are amazing.”

At that moment Will realized his ability to read people sucked or it could be the fact Robert was also an FBI agent and could hide behind a facade. He thought Robert was pissed. Now, he realized the other man was distracted instead.

"That's nice of you, Robert," Angie said taking pity on Will when he still couldn't speak.

Robert gave her a mega-watt smile. “I can be, occasionally.” He could also be sadistic, according to what he’d told Will.

Kristen smirked. “Let’s call Earl over. Order you a drink and another order of the shrimp.”

“Sounds like a plan,” Will stated before he scanned the restaurant. His gaze found their server and gave him a head bob, bringing the man over to their table.

“Need refills?” Earl asked once he arrived before his focus turned to Robert.

Will held up his hand. “I’m done drinking. Robert?”

“Just a glass of water, please.”

“Anything else?”

Angie spoke up. “Two more orders of the shrimp.”

Earl nodded, his gaze flickering back and forth between Will and Robert before he mumbled. “Guess I waited too long.”

“Holy shit,”Angie choked out, her hand slapping the table. “I freaking told you! You never believed me. He’s never flirted with us. It’s always you.”

Robert chuckled. “Will is off the market.”

Will gawked at Robert. Sure he’d said yes to their meet up at the club, but anything further, shouldn’t they have talked about first?Well, you did blurt out you loved him, so maybe you sealed the deal without Robert having to say or do anything. “Maybe.”

Robert leaned across the table and whispered so only Will could hear him, “I don’t know, beautiful boy, you seemed to like mine last night when you came; your ass clenching around my dick so hard, I saw stars. Was I wrong?”

His gaze remained on Robert as he gulped. “No, you weren’t wrong.”

Robert nodded before he leaned back into his chair. “That’s what I thought.” He winked at Will. “So, about last night...”

"Why are you here?" Will waited until Angie and Kristen excused themselves. "We're nowhere near the club." Suspicion crawled through his gut. He understood the emergencies at the club due to the storm that rolled through. But, it was more of a tropical downpour than a true hurricane, so what gives? How had he found them?

Robert took another bite of his dinner then wiped his mouth. “I told you. I feel bad for how things were left. My mind was scattered when it shouldn’t have been. I wanted to apologize and to check in with you.”

“That’s the only reason then?” Will sat back, crossing his arms over his chest. He’d spilled his guts the night before and all Robert had to say was, sorry... “You know what, this is why I don’t do relationships anymore. They’re too complicated and messy.” He pushed away from the table and went to stand. “Tell Angie and Kristen I paid the bill and went home.”
