Robert snatched Will’s hand, halting him. “Always running. Seems like a theme for you.”

“Why? Because I can see red flags before everyone else?”Liar. Didn’t see Tristan’s, did you?

“Maybe a restaurant isn’t the best place for this conversation,” Robert replied, ignoring Will’s comment.

Will frowned. Robert was right. Airing his dirty laundry in public wasn’t something he enjoyed. “I can admit when you’re right. We should do this somewhere private.”

"Your place then?" Robert asked. The hopeful look in his eyes chipped away at Will's resolve. As much as he wanted to believe Robert had been stuck at the club dealing with issues, a small part of him continued to question all of it. He knew his lack of trust was due in part to Tristan and he was associating Robert with Tristan's misdeeds, but he couldn't help it. Those wounds might never heal.

“You’re not going to take no for an answer are you?” Will peered at the man, not sure if he could meet Robert’s gaze.

“No, I’m not. There have been a few misunderstandings between us, and I think we should clear the air. The biggest one being your confession.”

The words, ‘I didn’t mean it,’ or ‘it was the heat of the moment,’ sat on the tip of Will’s tongue and he knew both were a lie. The instant he said either, he’d regret it. “If you think I said it because of?—”

“No, not you saying those words, my boy. My non-answer is the issue. But, I want to explain everything, away from all the distractions.” He threaded his fingers through Will’s. “When Angie and Kristen return, we’ll go to your place and hash it all out. I promise.”

The sincerity of his voice did things to Will. Since Tristan, he’d been quick to shy away from compliments or entanglements, while also being desperate for companionship and affection. Maybe all of his issues had to do with himself and not anyone else, because, deep down, he didn’t have any faith in his choices.

“Fine. But, I am going to lay some ground rules for this little conversation,” he said, trying his best to seem intimidating.

A ghost of a smirk tugged at the corner of Robert’s mouth, challenging Will. “Whatever you wish.”

“Don’t be condescending,” Will muttered.

“I’m not. I like this side to you. It makes my dick hard and my heart race.”

Will scoffed then choked. “Are you for real?”

Robert stood then walked around the table to stand in front of Will. Surprise filled him. The agent didn’t give a shit who saw them, especially when he was proving a point. He took Will’s hand and placed it on the crotch of his pants. The thickness there left Will speechless. “Very much so.” Will licked his bottom lip as he cupped Robert’s cock and balls. “Don’t do that here, beautiful boy. I might have to push you to your knees and suck me off.”

Will's breath hitched. "You're incorrigible." He groped Robert's cock and balls and reveled in the snarl that passed the man's lips.

“You’re playing with fire, boy,” Robert groused.

“Are we ready to go?” Angie inquired as she joined them at the table.

“We are,” Robert said, his gaze still locked with Will’s. “I’m going to his place so we can finish our conversation in private.”

Heat filled Will’s cheeks. “A conversation is all we’re having.” He removed his hand from Robert’s grasp then turned to Angie. “Thank you for meeting me tonight. I needed this.”

She grinned then laughed. “Looks like your night is just beginning.”

“We’ll see about that.” Will rolled his eyes. “Anyway, we should be going.”

Angie nodded. “Kristen called an Uber for us.”

“I’ll drive Will home,” Robert said. “I can pick up my bike in the morning.”

He had three of those mixed concoctions Earl gave him and though he was pleasantly buzzed, Will knew he had no business driving in his state. He was right on the line of being drunk. “At least one of us was using our brains tonight.”

Robert chuckled. “Don’t be so hard on yourself.”

The drive back to Will’s house was quiet, except for giving Robert directions and when Robert announced he needed to grab a few things from his bike. It was also the first time he’d had company over, that could be construed as more than a friend. Due to the lateness of the night, Dio would undoubtedly be in his bed in Will’s room. Since the move, he’d given Dio all the room he needed to roam, including the doggy door for the backyard, still the pup stayed close to Will, as if sensing he needed the companionship.

“The garage clicker is on the visor,” Will said, staring at his home.

“Are we regressing?” Robert hedged, as he pulled into the open spot.
