"Luna!" I whisper, running to her side.

Her eyes open slowly, drained of life and color. She doesn't even look like she knows I'm there.

"Hey, I'm here. I'm sorry I wasn't with you. What were you doing? You were supposed to be sleeping, you know you can't get worked up like that."

She swallows, wincing from pain.

"Do you need water?" I grab her hand, and it's cold, clammy. Limp in my own hand.

She just shakes her head once.

"I've got you, you just get some sleep."

She doesn't say anything, just blinks as she stares at me. A single tear sliding down her cheek. With the pad of my thumb, I gently brush it away.

"Hey... you're going to be okay. Just get some rest, okay? I'm not going anywhere."

For the first time since I've been holding her hand, she gives it a little squeeze. And says, "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."

The delicacy in her voice scares me, and I run the back of my hand over her pale, cold cheek. "Hey, you've got nothing to be sorry about. Just rest. I'll take care of everything else.

"No. Kingsley…"

"Shhh, you don't have to say anything. Just... rest."

She lays back, turning her head towards the window, her other hand coming out from under the blanket and pushes on the red call button.

I frown. I’ve never seen her do that. Not when I’m standing right there. "What do you need? I’ll get it for you."

She doesn’t answer, just presses the button again.

A nurse strolls in, eyeing me. "What can I get you, doll?"

"Security," Luna whispers hoarsely, finally looking over at me again. "I don't know who this man is, please take him away."

What did she say? "Wait. No. She knows me,” I say to the nurse, her face hardened. “I'm her... I'm hers."

The nurse squares off. "Sir. You need to leave. Now. You're bothering her." She gently touches my arm, but firm.

I squeeze Luna’s hand tighter, but her fingers go slack against mine. "Luna! What's going on? Tell her that you want me here."

She looks at me one last time and turns away, her eyes glistening with tears. "Please. Leave. And don't ever come back."

Luna

My name is LunaPham.

Yesterday, an article about me was published in the Commerce Insider with a list of allegations against me.

Some of them are true, and some are not. But I would like to address the important details in that article.

1. I amnotin a romantic relationship with Kingsley Baxter. Our relationship is based purely on him being the trustee of the inheritance trust my father left for me. And that relationship will also be dissolved presently.

2. I amsolelyresponsible for sharing privileged information about Baxter Enterprises with The Hamilton Group. I acted alone and wasnotasked to spy on Baxter Enterprises by anyone at The Hamilton Group.

3. Kingsley Baxter has never suspected me of sharing information, and anything shared was done completely out of his purview. Any implications suggesting otherwise are simply untrue and unfounded.
