She's here.

Resplendent in a simple strapless silver sequined Carolina Herrera gown that whispers along the floor when she walks. It drapes over her curves, showing off her natural beauty.

Walking moonlight.

That's what I'd thought when I saw it, and knew that it was designed to be worn by her.

Her hair falls like a satin black curtain down her back, the light glinting off it like an ebony chandelier.

Her face is simply made up.

Her cheeks glow pink with heat or my proximity.

"You're here,” I exhale.

"Fashionably late. Sorry about that, Mr. Punctuality. So, that dance?"

She pulls on my hand and leads me to a spot on the dance floor, gently laying her arm on my shoulder, the other squeezing my hand. I slide my hand around her back, pulling her closer. Too scared to pull her too close, in case she dissipates into the air.

"Nice tie,” she says with a wink.

"You like the color?"

A little nod. "It reminds me of something, oh, that's right. A napkin that was stolen from my house."

"Actually, think of it more as a souvenir."

"I think it's called stealing when you don't pay for it." She jabs me gently in the chest. And I relish the touch.

"Ididpay. I brought champagne."

"That you drank the most of."

My jaw drops in mock offense. "It was 1996 Dom. How much did the napkin cost?"

"At least three sips more than you left me of the champagne."

"My apologies, Mademoiselle. I'll send you a check."

Her big brown eyes dance with a mischievous light that I didn’t even realize I could missed this much. "I'll have to check with my trustee on how much to actually charge you. Interest and all that."

"’All that?’All what exactly."

She shrugs. "I don't know. He didn't teach me those words."

"I have it on good authority that he absolute did. Maybe you were too busy looking through magazines to be paying attention."

"He talked a lot. I got bored listening sometimes. A lot of it was nonsense to be honest."

I splutter. "You really want to be talking about how muchItalked?"

She grins, and then tries to mask it, straightening her beautiful face. "You?I was talking about my trustee."

"Ah, well, your trustee seems to have done a good job educating you. This dress is stunning."

Her face softens, angelic. "Thank you. He sent it to me. With a note. His assistant hand delivered it. I don't think he would've approved that expense if I had requested."

"Foolish man. Did you not hear about what happened with the letter that got lost getting to Romeo?"
