Jennings let out a low whistle. “Good inventory here, boss man.”

He nodded. “You know it.” When the man walked with a swagger to a seat along one wall, Jennings did the same.

“Sit down. I want to talk to you before we take off.”

As if he had no sins blemishing his reputation, he sank to the chair and directed his attention to Cole. “What’s up?”

His direct gaze held the same dark gleam it usually did. But Jennings read something else in his eyes.

“We know you killed Viper.”

Jennings bobbed his head as though deep in thought. “Knew it wouldn’t take long for you to find out.”

“You killed our man.”

“He had the girl. You saw her. She’s worth it.”

He cocked a brow at Jennings expectantly.

“Viper wasn’t managing his territory right anyway. He murdered a guy and left a witness alive. I wanted the girl. I knew I could handle shit better than Viper did. End of story.”

“End of story…”

“Yeah, man. You would do the same. Don’t tell me you wouldn’t.”

He snorted. “True.”

“So we good?”

Cole’s brow hiked up again. “I don’t know. Are we?”

“Sure, man.” He extended a fist for Cole to bump his knuckles against. “Now, what’s with the bikes? Do we get to sample the goods when we land?”

“No. They’re being sold.”

“Too bad. Not often a man gets to see this many quality bikes in one spot.” He glanced at his surroundings, taking in every inch of the plane’s interior. He noted the exits as well as the location of the cockpit. “This craft belong to the club?”

“Nah, man. It’s rented.”

“Gotcha.”

Just then the pilot came on the intercom, telling them to fasten their seatbelts. Jennings huffed out a laugh as he clipped the seatbelt around his waist.

“Don’t suppose we get booze on this flight.”

Cole laughed. “Not unless you brought a bottle.”

“I would have if I’d known.”

The engine had been a low whir, making it easy to talk, but now it geared up to a loud roar. Getting in the air took no time, and when the aircraft leveled at cruising altitude, Jennings kicked out one leg, settling in.

The Disciples weren’t in the bike trade. Not even illegal parts moved through the club. So why were they transporting so many?

His mind drifted to the end game, but since he didn’t know what that was, he couldn’t plan for it. So many times during this op, he’d flown by the seat of his pants, and he didn’t mind doing it again.

Only now, he had a woman relying on him. She hadn’t told him that she had feelings for him. He could be deluding himself that she cared. But there was no way to fake that expression on her beautiful face when he was moving inside her.

Cole unhooked his seatbelt and got to his feet.
