Levi stepped into the room and sat at the edge of the bed.He ran the back of his hand over her forehead.

She nodded and winced as she swallowed.“A little.”
Levi’s brow furrowed with concern as he reached over to the nightstand and grabbed a thermometer.
“I’m sorry you’re feeling icky, baby doll,” Levi murmured, his voice filled with genuine worry.
Harper’s heart fluttered at his tender care, despite her aching body.It felt as though she’d been hit by a train.
“Lie back and roll onto your side,” he instructed.
She eyed the thick glass thermometer with a mix of trepidation and arousal.She’d never had her temperature taken in her bottom until today.Heck, she hadn’t ever had anyone touch her at all back there.For some reason, it hadn’t felt scary having Levi do it.He’d been so gentle and reassuring, and she wanted to please him.She hoped he wouldn’t notice the slickness sticking to her thighs.
