Thankfully the timer went off, and their conversation was put on the back burner when he pulled the thermometer from her bottom.
“Still over a hundred.I want to look in your throat.”
He adjusted her panties over her hips before he took the thermometer into the bathroom and returned a moment later with a small bag in his hand.
“Sit up for me, baby,” he instructed.
It was easy to obey.She wanted to please him.To hear the praise he seemed to so easily give.
She expected him to do what he said he was going to do and look in her throat.Instead, he knelt in front of her and cupped her chin.
“Tell Daddy what you were thinking about.I could tell it was hurting you, and I won’t allow you to be hurt by anyone, including yourself.”

Why wouldn’t he let it go?The last thing she wanted to do was admit to being jealous of another woman getting Levi’s attention.Jealousy never looked good on anyone.
“Harper, look at me,” he said in a firm voice she wasn’t used to hearing from him.
She lifted her gaze to meet his and expected to find anger, but she didn’t see anything resembling that.Instead, he looked concerned.
“Kitten, the most important thing in a Daddy/Little girl dynamic is open communication and honesty.I will always be open and honest with you.I expect the same in return.”
Her shoulders drooped, and her bottom lip trembled.“You’ll be mad.Or think I’m crazy.”
His eyebrows rose.“First, I won’t think you’re crazy, and I don’t want to hear you talk like that.Second, I won’t be mad.If there’s something that’s bothering you or that you’re questioning, I can’t make it better if I don’t know what it is.”
When she didn’t respond, he sighed.“Does it have to do with me giving Remi an exam?”
How did he know?Was she that obvious?
“Maybe,” she whispered.“Yes.I guess so.It’s just that, when you give them exams, do you…do you do the same stuff with them as you do with me?”
Understanding filled his gaze, and he rose to sit on the bed next to her, then pulled her onto his lap.His thick, corded arms held her tightly, and she loved the woodsy scent of his cologne surrounding her.
“When I give the other Little girls exams, their Daddies are always present.I never use my hands or fingers to penetrate them.Only medical tools that are needed for their check-ups.”
She stared at the stubble on his chin, trying to absorb what he said.“Do you get turned on?”

Levi pulled back and cupped her chin.He shook his head.“Don’t ever apologize for having insecurities.I want to know when you’re unsure of yourself.It’s my job to help you feel secure in this relationship.”
“We have a relationship?”she asked before she could think better of it.
He smiled and stared at her with so much heat in his gaze, it warmed her whole body.
“I’d sure like us to have a relationship.I can wait, though, if that’s what you need.I like you, Harper.I’ve never believed in love at first sight, but I think I do now.”
It felt as though her eyes were going to bug out of her head.“You don’t love me.”
“Maybe not yet.But I have strong feelings for you.I want to be your Daddy.I want to take care of you and help you heal from the abuse you endured.I want to show you what a loving, respectful relationship should be like.I want it all with you, Little girl.The question is, do you think you could give me a chance to show you?”
Harper’s heart pounded in her chest, her mind reeling from Levi’s confession.The weight of his words hung in the air, creating a charged silence between them.She searched his eyes, seeking any hint of uncertainty or insincerity, but all she found was unwavering resolve.
