“We had a feeling you were hurting poor Harper, but whenever we tried to talk to her, she avoided us,” the man said.“Now you’re trying to beat up these fine men who came to save this new woman you’re abusing.Shame on you.”
Doc grinned.These neighbors were about to be his new best friends.
“Fuck you!”Zach screamed.
“No, man.Fuck you.You’re a coward.I can’t wait until someone makes you their bitch in prison, because there’s no doubt in my mind that will happen,” Storm growled.
Sirens approached.The next hour was spent answering questions, turning over the recording of Zach’s confession, and thanking the neighbors for their help.Kade called the woman’s brother to come get her.Once she left with him, they made their way back to their bikes.
Doc grabbed a towel from his saddlebag and wiped the blood from his hands.
Bear grinned.“The look on his face when you pulled out the recorder.I think he pissed himself.”
All of them burst out laughing.
“Come on.Let’s get back to our girls,” Kade said.“I feel like I need to hold Remi a little tighter tonight.”
Without another word, they all climbed onto their bikes and headed toward the compound.

Harper
Warmth surrounded her, along with the scents of citrus and leather.She opened her eyes and found her Daddy lying in bed next to her with his head propped up on his hand.He was watching her.
“Hi, kitten,” he murmured.
She let her pacifier fall from her lips.“Hi, Daddy.”
“I didn’t mean to wake you.I just…I needed to see you for a bit before I went to sleep.”
He was freshly showered and shirtless, and holy crap, he smelled delicious.His dark hair was still wet and combed away from his face.
“I’m glad you woke me,” she whispered.
When he reached up to brush a stray hair away from her face, she noticed the bandages on his hand and sucked in a breath.
“You got hurt?”she asked, her bottom lip trembling.
He quickly pulled his hand away and shook his head.“I’m not hurt.My knuckles are a little messed up, but they’ll heal quickly.He’s in a lot worse condition than me.”
“What happened?When do I have to talk to the police?”
Levi stroked her tummy and smiled.“Probably within the next few days.He admitted to it, and I recorded it, so he’s already been arrested.He won’t be coming for you anymore.You’re safe, baby.”
Tears dripped from her eyes as a sob broke free.She was safe.Zach couldn’t hurt her anymore.She could finally live her life without fear.
“Fuck, baby, I didn’t mean to make you cry,” he murmured as he brushed the tears away.
She threw her arms around his neck and sobbed louder.“They’re happy tears.Thank you, Daddy.Thank you.”
“I’d do anything for you, baby.Anything.You’re mine.I take that seriously.”
They clung to each other.It wasn’t until she started dozing off in his embrace that he pulled away.
“You need to go to sleep, baby.I’m going to go out to the couch.”
Her eyes widened.“No.Please.Please stay with me.I don’t want you to go.”
