Another scream confirmed it, and they took off running.Doc pounded on the front door.If they had to, they’d break it down.The last thing he wanted was a breaking and entering charge, but if that woman screamed again, he’d kick it in without a second thought.
The door swung open, and Doc found himself standing face to face with the man who’d hurt his Little girl.
“What?”Zach asked.
A woman with red-rimmed eyes cowered behind him, holding one of her arms close to her chest.She was shaking like a leaf.All it took was one glance at the woman to know Zach was hurting her the same way he’d hurt Harper.
Without a word, Doc pulled his fist back and smashed it into his face.The hit caught Zach off guard, causing him to stumble back.Blood trickled from the fucker’s nose as he clutched his face, disbelief etched across his features.Doc stood tall, his chest heaving.
Zach regained his footing, his expression shifting to rage.He lunged, but Doc had anticipated the move and sidestepped the attack effortlessly.Instead, Zach ended up in the grasp of Bear and Steele.
As Zach struggled against Bear’s grip, his face contorted with anger.His attempts to break free were fruitless.Doc gripped Zach’s throat, squeezing hard enough to make the man’s eyes bulge.
“You hurt my girl.You tried to kill her,” Doc ground out.
Zach’s eyes darkened.He sputtered for a few seconds until Doc released his neck.
“That fucking whore.Ungrateful little bitch,” he shouted.
Doc saw red and threw another punch to Zach’s stomach, causing him to double over in pain.The hold Steele and Bear had on him stopped him from being able to move very far.
Doc stepped closer until he was only inches from Zach’s face.“You set her apartment on fire.You broke in and removed her smoke detectors.You tried to murder her!”
His shouts echoed down the street, but he didn’t care.The neighbors needed to know what kind of piece of shit they’d been living next to.
Zach was practically foaming from the mouth as he scowled at Doc.“Fuck you, man!She fucking deserved it!She should have died in that fire.No one leaves me!”
The woman who was still standing in the doorway started crying.Kade stepped over to her and comforted her.
A sinister smile spread across Doc’s lips as he pulled his fist back and clocked the guy in the face again.Blood dripped from his mouth in a satisfying red stream onto his white shirt.
“How could you try to kill an innocent woman?”Doc snarled.
Zach spat, his blood landing on Doc’s cut.Thank fuck it was leather and could be easily cleaned.
“She’s not innocent.She left me.She lied to me and left me.Now she’s whoring around with you!She deserves to die.”
This time it was Storm who punched him with a satisfying crunch.Zach screamed in pain.
“I’ll kill you all!You’re dead!She’s dead!”he shouted.
With a smirk, Doc pulled a small recording device from his front pocket and held it up.
“And you’re going to jail for a long, long time.King, call the cops.”
Zach started struggling, trying to get free, kicking and screaming against the hold Bear and Steele had on him.Neighbors had started coming out of their houses, watching the commotion.
“She’s going to press charges,” Kade announced.
Doc’s smile widened.“Good.Both women will get justice.Although, I’d say attempted murder alone is going to put him away for a long, long time.”
“The police aren’t going to believe you thugs!You’re biker trash!You came to my house and beat me up.You’ll go to jail for assault!”Zach shouted.
The men all started laughing.
“From what we saw, you swung at them first,” a man called out from behind them.
They turned to find a couple standing at the end of the walkway.Doc raised an eyebrow.That was definitely not how it had gone down.Not that he cared.He’d take an assault charge.If it meant protecting his girl and this other woman, it was well worth it.
