“Ever try one?”
“You’ve met my grandmother.” I mimic her her voice. “It’s unladylike for a woman to smoke.”
“Well, I know that’s bullshit, since I know for a fact you’ve smoked weed.”
“Touché. Can I try it?”
I look up, gauging his reaction. He surprises me by pulling it from his mouth. I sit.
“What do I do?”
“Put your mouth around the tip and suck.”
“I feel like you’ve said something similar to me before.”
“Cheeky,” he chuckles as he hands it to me. “Just be sure not to inhale the smoke. Hold it in your mouth for a moment so you can savor it before exhaling.”
“Noted.”
I hold the cigar in my mouth, inhaling. And then immediately start coughing. My eyes water and I hand it back to him, wiping my eyes. His lips twitch, but he has the decency not to laugh at me.
“Holy crap. That’s terrible.”
“That’s a Gurkha Black Dragon.”
“That means nothing to me.”
“It’s a special edition that cost me twenty-three grand.”
My eyes widen. “That’s as much as a car!”
“Open your mouth.”
He takes a puff of the cigar, waiting for me. I eye him but do as he says. He leans down, blowing into my mouth. Making sure not to inhale this time, I try to savor it. It’s still gross, but not as bad as before. I exhale, trying not to cough.
“You can keep them,” I say with a shake of my head.
“Guess that means you won’t be trying my Gurkha Royal Courtesan Cigar, then?”
“Let me guess. You paid forty grand for it.”
“Try one point three million.”
“You’re insane,” I say with a laugh. “But I guess I can’t say anything because I’d pay that much for a book if I could.”
“A book? Which one?”
“Oh, I have a lot of books on my dream list. All first editions, of course.”
“Such as?”
“Pride and Prejudice. Jane Eyre. The Hobbit.” My cheeks flush. “I could go on all night.”
He hums under his breath. “Looks like we all have guilty pleasures. Although, I’m beginning to think I may have a new favorite.”
His cock hardens, curling upward to me.
I grin. “Is that a hint to put my mouth around the tip and suck?”
