My shoulders stiffened before the lie leaped from my lips. “I hauled ass to Tybee. You know how it is.”

This would be the last time I lied to Joker about Tori. Once I told her how I felt, we would come clean. No matter how much she loved sneaking around. She was my girl, and it was time everyone, including my brothers, knew.

“You don’t get tired of sleeping on the beach? All that sand in your crack?”

“Never,” I said, pulling open the refrigerator door for a swig of my pineapple juice. “Also, I don’t get sand in my crack. What the fuck have you been doing on the beach, my dude?”

He shrugged. “Fucking.”

I snorted. “That’ll do it.”

“What are we talking about?” Crow asked, coming around the corner with sleep still in his eyes.

“Talking about Joker fucking in the sand. He likes sand in his ass crack.”

Crow paused, his eyes scanning Joker, and his lips curled in disgust before she shook his head and looked away. “It’s too early for that shit.”

Joker got up and went to his room to get his shit straight, and while he was gone, Crow pulled me close.

“Listen, I usually stay out of other people’s business, but your girl’s little sister was at The Strip last night.”

“Fuck,” I muttered, running my fingers through my hair in aggravation.

“Yep. And between me and you, she’s with the wrong group. They were hitting Joker up for some hard shit last night. He didn’t know who she was and sold it to her, but I don't know, man. She seems like a good girl. I’d hate to see shit go badly for her.”

I nodded.

As much as I wanted to stay out of Tori and Gracie’s relationship, I had to interfere. If I didn’t, there was no telling what would happen.

“Thanks, man.” I squeezed Crow’s shoulder, and he shook me loose.

“Just doing my one good deed of the day.”

I chuckled. He would never admit he had a weak spot for women in distress, but he did. Crow was a fucking beast, tall and scary as fuck to look at, but deep down, he was a big ole softy when he came to the fairer sex.

We left an hour later to resupply with Donny B. We pulled up to his spot and turned off our engines. His house was nice, in a middle-class neighborhood close to an elementary school, which meant he would get hard time if his place were ever raided. I had told the dumb fuck several times he needed to move, but he wasn’t trying to hear it.

He met us on the porch, smoking a cigarette in a pair of boxers.

“What’s up, y’all?” He got up from his seat, tossed his smoke, and went inside.

We followed.

“Nothing much. Sleepy as fuck,” Joker said. “Any particular reason you wanted to do this at the ass crack of dawn?” He yawned, further proving his point.

Donny B. chuckled. “I have a ton of shit going on today, and then I’m heading to Myrtle Beach with my lady tomorrow for a few days, so I needed to get all my wheeling and dealing done before I left.”

Donny B. wasn’t the type to settle down. I felt sorry for whoever he considered his lady. More than likely, she didn’t know he was sleeping with half of Atlanta, but it wasn’t my business.

He had a spread laid out on the kitchen table for us. Weed. Coke. Pills. The works. His business was doing better since Jonah had landed in prison.

Crow and Joker went to work, picking through the stash and loading up, but when I went to join them, Donny B. pulled me to the side.

“So what’s up with the girl last night?” he asked.

I ran my fingers through my hair and looked over to ensure Joker and Crow hadn’t heard him.

“What do you mean?”
