“Good.”

My phone buzzes, and I look at the text. It’s from a waitress at the club.

“Everything okay?” Dom asks concerned.

“Yeah. Just work.”

Chapter Sixteen

DOMINICK

Geneva leans up on her toes and presses her hands on my chest. “I have to go to work.”

“Right now?” I ask. It’s only because I don’t want us to be apart for any amount of time, however I know that’s not realistic.

“Yes. A waitress called off, so they need someone to fill in.”

“Fine. But let me drop you off and pick you up after. And we can come back here.”

“Okay, sounds good to me.”

“We also need to do something about that apartment of yours. I know you love it, and it is great with the view, but the area is not good. I want you safe.”

“We can discuss that later, Dom.”

I bend down to kiss her forehead. “Let’s get you to work. At least you aren’t stripping.” I flash her a wide grin, and we load into the back of the SUV.

“Well, I’ll have you know, if you and me are together, and you don’t want anyone else to see me naked, then I won’t do it. But this is a perfect opportunity for me to get some waitressing experience at the club.”

“You’re not stripping anymore?”

“I’m not.”

“Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” She leans her head on my shoulder, and I hold her hand while my driver heads to the club.

I have no clue what this woman is doing me. But no one has ever made me feel the way I do for her. Even in past relationships, it’s always been about status quo, and how much money I make. But with Gen, I know she doesn’t give a shit about that stuff, especially with her father being in the mob, as well. Maybe that’s why we get along and click so well. Knowing all this makes me want to give her the world.

“We’re here,” I tell her squeezing her hand. “And I’ll be right here when you are off your shift.”

“Well, it’s only four hours.”

“Perfect.”

She leans in to kiss me, and I cup her face, giving her a deep kiss to let her know what I have in store for her later.

I watch as she exits the SUV. “I hate to see you go, but love to watch you leave.”

“Ha ha. Funny.”

She disappears into the establishment. Her roommate’s number is passed along to me from one of my associates, and I dial the number.

“Hey. This is Dominick.”

“Geneva’s Dominick? Is she okay?”

“Oh yeah, she is fine. Can I drop by the apartment to talk to you?”
