“Oh, I hadn’t thought that far ahead.”

“I’m guessing they could be booked because you usually have to book well in advance. But we can see it, right?”

“Yes.”

Upon entering the venue, we are immediately greeted. “Hi. I’m Veronica.” She offers her hand, and we shake. “I’m Claire, the bride, and this is my friend Astera.”

“It’s nice to meet you. So you are looking for a place to get married?”

“I am. But it’s this Friday.”

“Oh. Wow. That is soon. Why don’t you both look around, and I’ll take another look at our books.”

“Perfect.”

“We really don’t need anything huge. It isn’t like a lot of people are coming,” I confirm.

“Come on,” she motions me into a ballroom, and the chandelier is definitely a statement in this room.

“It’s gorgeous.” Right now, I am appeasing Astera because I have a feeling a place like this is booked so far in advance.

Veronica finds us in the ballroom. “Good news. I have a space available. But it is a tad smaller.”

“I don’t need a large space.”

“Okay, then follow me.”

Giving Astera a ‘this is promising look’, we follow Veronica outside to a whole different building. She pulls the doors open, and I immediately smile because the space would be perfect. It has that rustic-barn-type vibe and isn’t big, but it would be plenty for us.

“I can tell by her smile, she loves it,” Astera states to Veronica.

“The only thing I cannot offer is catering because it’s such short notice. But you can use the space for five hours. We can transform it from a wedding to a reception type.” Veronica pulls out a binder and shows the pictures for something simplistic.

“We can center a small space for cocktail hour while we change things around. And in that time, you can even do your wedding pictures.”

“It looks lovely,” I look at Astera.

“I will leave you two to discuss it, and you can meet back in the main building.”

“Thank you so much.”

Freaking out, I make a face as Veronica heads out. “How would I pay for something like this? I left my job after being kidnapped because I couldn’t bring myself out of bed. So, I don’t have any income.”

“I know the club would be happy to pay for it.”

“You know I couldn’t accept that.”

“You can consider a gift for you and Hayden.”

Biting down on my lip, I look around the space again. “Okay, let’s do it.”

“Yay!”

We meet Veronica back in the main building and accept the offer. Astera makes the down payment, then the rest should be paid in full on the day of the wedding.

“Thank you, Veronica.”

“Oh, you are welcome.”
