“Hold on,” Cutter cuts in.“We need to tread lightly here and carefully plan our attack. We can’t just go in guns blazing, as much as I want to.”

“He’s right,” Foster interjects and looks up to Rowan, who is standing, ready to fight or kill.

“I know they won’t kill her because that would just be stupid and cause an all-out war,” Cutter says.“Foster and Lock, I need you both to do some recon.”

“What the fuck?”Rowan spews.

“We can’t risk you going in there trying to be the hero right now,” Cutter says.

Cutter looks back between Foster and Lock before turning his head to me.“Griffin, you can go and be a lookout for them.”

“Will do.”

Rowan keeps muttering under his breath.“I told her to stay away from here. She never listens.”He takes his hand and bangs it to his forehead in frustration.

Cutter says calmly, “I know you’re worried. But we have to do this right. We will get her back.Stop beating yourself up over it.What’s done is done. And to be honest, she might be safer here anyway.”

Cutter waits a beat before speaking again.“We will all get some sleep, and we can start the recon tomorrow evening.Does anyone else have anything they need to address?”

No one speaks.

“Okay, meeting is over.”

I immediately head over to the pool table, and the guys help lift Hayden off so we can put him in bed.

“I can walk,” he insists.

“You were shot, asshole,” I tell him.

With an arm around my shoulders and his other arm around Foster’s, we assist him to the bedroom.

We get him settled in, and he huffs.“Tell me the plan,” he instructs.

“Why don’t you grab the crutches so he stays off the leg,” I tell Foster.

I fill Hayden in on what the plan is.

“Fuck. We can’t let anything happen to her, Griff.”

“I know.We won’t.We need to be careful and not get anyone else shot or killed,” I state.

Foster returns with the crutches and props them against the bedside table.“Use these so you don’t damage your leg even more.”

Hayden huffs.

“You good?”

He nods in response.

I stop to grab two beers before heading to my room, where Astera is waiting for me.Inside the room, I hand her a beer.

“I don’t know why they took her.She is a good person.I offered for them to take me, but they didn’t want to because they said I made their guys look like pussies.Which they are.”

I sit against the headboard of the bed, pulling Astera into me and wrapping my arms around her.“You did what you had to do to stay alive. Now wipe those tears.”

“The club didn’t steal the guns, right?”she asks.

“We didn’t.”
