The sight alone would be enough to make any man hard, if I weren’t already.

I grab one of the condoms, rip it open and slide it over my shaft. Wrapping her legs around me she presses me deep as my length slides into her.

“Ah.” She moans, tipping her head back.

With every thrust she rocks beneath me, taking in every inch of my cock. Her fingernails travel down my back, leaving a gentle burn in their wake.

“Fuck.” I sigh against her mouth.

Her teeth graze over my bottom lip, and our tongues collide as I claim her mouth again.

Around us, the smells of sweat and sex mingle with the briny sea air and the lavender of her skin.

Libby arches beneath me, her toes curling into my thighs. I tremble with every panted breath. She moans against my ear as I bury my face in her neck. My fingers clench the fabric of the pillows.

I’m teetering on the edge when Libby gasps and her body shudders. I growl as the heat within me breaks free, leaving me breathless and shaking.

Libby presses against me as I stretch out by her side. Her fingers dance along my ribs as her eyelids fall. I place my palm on her smooth stomach, sliding it down to the inside of her thigh, before pulling the sheet up around us. She settles against me, and I lay my arm over her middle, pressing one final kiss to her shoulder, knowing I’m well and truly fucked.

Tomorrow, she’ll be gone.

A memory, rich and sweet, but untouchable.

Damn it.I wouldn’t give this memory up for anything in the world, but what would I give up to have her again?

Chapter Nine

Libby

Feeling the bed shift, I open my eyes enough to find the outline of Riker’s hunched form on the edge of the bed, his face illuminated by his phone.

I roll toward him and he reaches back to squeeze my arm. “I turned off the alarm so you can sleep longer, but I need to get my stuff together.

I trace my fingers over the tattoo on his right shoulder blade; the initials K.L.C. in an elegant font embellished with decorative swirling lines, with two small footprints underneath. Lifting my eyes to his, I carefully kiss his shoulder. His eyes narrow, but he doesn’t flinch.

“If you’re ever in Ohio, I can take you out for tacos.”

“I may have to take you up on that.”

I’m not exactly holding my breath, though I hold on to the hope of seeing him again. He places his hand on mine. “You have my number. I may not be able to rush in in person, but if you need someone—”

He doesn’t finish, lingering over me and slipping back under the sheets. He steals another kiss.

I don’t want it to end, but it does too soon. It’s all ending too soon. I don’t even know what to say.

Riker’s forehead rests on mine. “Try to stay out of trouble.”

“No guarantees. Have a safe flight. Call me if you need a laugh.”

He presses up, hovering over me for an instant before he rolls to the side.

I quickly gather my clothes from around the bed and pull them on.

“You should grab the whiskey.”

I’m gonna need it.

I thought I’d had plenty of morning afters, but nothing ever felt like the hole forming in the pit of my stomach as he packs. I risk one last glance back. “Riker…”
