He took her hand and slid a ring on her finger that made her gasp at the size of the diamond.

“I bought the ring and had it in my pocket. I planned on asking you that night, but I screwed everything up.”

She threw her arms around him and his lips found hers in a kiss that melted her from the inside out.

She heard his family on the side cheering and realized that not only was she getting a husband but an entire family.

Leaning back, she gazed into his eyes. “I’ll sign the prenup.”

“Oh no, you won’t. Not that one. Madison drew up one that is much fairer. You read it and tell me what you think. We don’t need a prenup if you don’t want one.”

She smiled at him, her heart full. “No, we need one to protect the ranch for our children and your family.”

He grinned at her. “You do realize we didn’t use protection the other night. We could already be working on baby number two.”

She grinned at him. “I know. But I’m not worried about it. What will be, will be. But we might want to get married quick.”

“Yes, and please will you quit that job and take care of our son? Move to the ranch with me. I need you there to comfort me and be by my side. I don’t want you flying away from me.”

Cristina’s heart felt so full.

Three days ago, she’d thought her life had gone to crap, and now, she had a new family, a son that she loved with all her heart, and was engaged to the man she’d loved a long time.

He was right; they had fallen in love that first night. Only it had taken him a little longer to realize it. Together they had made a child they adored and now she hoped she was pregnant again.

She stared at the reporters. Tomorrow everyone would know of their love for one another. The man had outdone himself by telling the world of his feelings for her.

Reaching up, she kissed him again. “I love you so very much.”

“I love you more and I’m a dumb ass for not being able to say those words to you sooner.”

She giggled. “You can make it up to me by saying them to me every day.”

CHAPTER 24

The next day, she rode to the ranch with Blake in his truck. Adrian and Madison had asked if they could keep Wyatt for the night while she and Blake spent the night in a hotel.

It had been wonderful. Last night, they had consummated the love they felt for one another, alone in a hotel, without reporters or a baby crying in the night. Last night, she found her forever love.

Today, they were on their way to pick up Wyatt and they were taking a load of her things to the ranch. She agreed that she and Wyatt would be safer there.

She’d written her letter of resignation to the airlines. Frankly, she thought they would be relieved she was quitting. She’d also told her apartment that she would be moving out. Her lease was up next month and they agreed they were glad to see her go. They were tired of all the press disturbing the neighbors.

The police had called them and told them they caught the man who had broken in and tried to kidnap Wyatt. He’d wanted to hold the infant for ransom. And no, she would not drop the charges against him.

He could rot in jail for all she cared. If he’d made it out that window or dropped Wyatt from the second story, she would have been devastated, so jail time it was for him.

Driving through the gate of the Kissing Oaks Ranch, she sighed. Blake had promised to make her a she-shed where she could paint. But, first, they needed to know if she was pregnant again. And even if she wasn’t, she knew she would soon be because they wanted a big family, so they needed to get started.

Glancing down at her hand, his fingers were intertwined with hers.

He lifted her hand to his mouth and kissed it.

“If I don’t express my feelings, you remind me that you need to hear what I’m thinking and feeling,” he said.

Since yesterday, he’d told her at least fifteen times that he loved her and she didn’t grow tired of hearing him say the words.

“I will,” she said.
