“That is so awesome! Can we hang out sometime?”

“I’d love to hang out with you.”

“I’m going to tell my dad!” She climbed out of the booth.

“What an adorable little girl.” I smiled.

“Yeah, she’s a great kid.”

Shaun walked over and slid next to Carter.

“Are you ready to head back to my house?” he asked.

“Are you ready to hear what I found?” A smirk crossed my lips.

“Not really.” He sighed. “Let’s get this over with.”

I followed Carter and Shaun back to Shaun’s house and grabbed the printouts from the front seat.

“Can I get you a glass of wine?” Shaun asked.

“Sure. Thank you.” I smiled.

“I’ll pour the scotch,” Carter said.

“Make it a triple,” Shaun spoke as he poured my wine.

The three of us took a seat at the table.

“So, my theory was right. Your real estate department and someone in your accounting department are in cahoots. Who is Raquel Ross?”

“She’s the senior accountant that handles the accounting for the real estate division.”

“And that Ken guy is the head of your real estate division?”

“Yes.” His eyes narrowed at me.

“Well, I think they’re the two in cahoots and most likely having an affair.”

“Ken is married,” Shaun said.

“Then he’s planning on leaving his wife at some point and running away with Raquel and the money they’ve stolen from you. Once the listing for the property is approved, it’s kept up for a total of three days. After the three-day mark, it’s delisted, reconfigured, and relisted at a higher price. Once the rent checks start pouring in at the higher price, Raquel subtracts the original price from the increased price and puts the difference under a company called R&K Distributors.”

“I’ve never heard of the company,” Shaun said as he threw the scotch down the back of his throat.”

“That’s because it’s a shell company Raquel and Ken created. R&K.” My brow arched.

“Those motherfuckers.” Rage stirred in Shaun’s eyes.

“I traced R&K Distributors to an offshore account in Belize. I bet that’s where they’re planning on running to.”

“How much?” Shaun asked.

I turned the paper around and slid it across the table.

“Are you fucking serious?” he shouted as he threw the paper across the table and stood up.

Carter grabbed the paper and stared at it. “Five million dollars?” He looked at me.
