“And when were you going to talk to me about it?”
“Why do you think I asked you to dinner tonight? I was going to ask you if you had your final business plan ready.” I smiled. “I’m not sure why the loan officer would turn you down. As I said, this is a perfect business plan.”
“It’s because I’m a woman.” Her brow arched.
“Who did you speak to at the bank?”
“His name is Mr. Keys. Why?”
“Just wondering. Anyway, it was meant to be because now you don’t have to deal with them. Accept my offer to invest. You can start ordering everything you need. Before you know it, your bakery will be up and running. I’ll call my attorney right now and have him draw up the partnership contract. You can sign it tomorrow, and the funds will be deposited into your account. Now that it’s settled, let’s eat.” I grinned.
“I haven’t agreed yet.” Her brows furrowed.
“Looks to me like you don’t have a choice. You want your bakery, and I can help. Deal?” I extended my hand across the table.
She stared at me momentarily before placing her hand in mine. “Deal.”
“Excellent. Let’s finish eating so we can go into the bedroom and celebrate.” I smiled as I winked at her.
After we ate, I called my attorney while Zoey cleaned up. As she stood at the sink, rinsing off the dishes, I walked up behind her, grabbed her hips, and softly kissed her neck.
