“It’s beautiful in here, Zoey.” Sebastian kissed my cheek.
“Thank you, Sebastian.”
“I think I’ve died and gone to Heaven.” Conner grinned as he stared inside the case where the cakes were displayed.
“Mom, this is weird,” Simon said.
“What is, darling?”
“Seeing you behind the counter. I’ve never seen you work a day in my life.”
“Go away, Simon.” She waved her hand.
He walked away, laughing.
Carter looked at me with a smirk, shaking his head.
CHAPTER 33
ONE MONTH LATER
Zoey
“If there are any issues at all, call me,” I told my staff.
“Zoey, darling. The bakery will be fine.” Barb smiled as she hugged me. “You’re only going to Vegas for three days. And one of those days, the bakery will be closed. Stop worrying and have fun. You deserve it after all the hard work you put in.”
“Babe, come on. We have to go,” Carter stepped inside the bakery.
“I’m coming.”
We climbed into the limo that Carter got for us to drive us to the hangar where Shaun’s plane was waiting.
“Let’s get this bachelor/bachelorette party started!” Grayson shouted as the plane took off.
I looked over at Georgia sitting on one of the couches, holding Liam.
“I’m going to talk to Georgia.” I placed my hand on Carter’s arm.
“Okay, babe.” He smiled.
Walking over, Jackson got up, and I sat beside her.
“He’s so adorable.” I took his tiny hand in mine.
“Thank you. Here, hold him.” She smiled.
I took baby Liam in my arms and stared down at him. He was sound asleep and looked like an angel.
“I’m happy you brought him.”
“Me too. I just couldn’t leave him. I’m so happy June agreed to come with us to watch him.”
“I don’t know her very well yet, but from what I can tell, she’s a wonderful woman.” I smiled.
“She is. She and the boys are really close. She’s been with them since they opened the medical practice.”
