“Yeah. You could have.”

I chuckled as my grip around his neck tightened. “Behave yourself, detective.”

The wedding coordinator came to the suite and alerted us that it was time to head down to the Fountain Courtyard. It was as beautiful as I imagined it would be, with all flowers that elegantly filled the space and the fountain that served as the backdrop.

“You ready?” Gabriel grinned.

“I’m more than ready. Do you have the ring?”

“Right here.” He patted his pocket.

As the harpist began playing a melody, the girls entered the courtyard, looking as beautiful as ever, in different styled long gowns in light pink, carrying small bouquets in their hands, and taking their places next to their husbands. Once everyone was in place, the harpist played the wedding march, and my eyes filled with tears when I saw Zoey slowly walking toward me. Grayson looked over at me and placed his hand on my back.

I held out my hand as my gorgeous bride approached with tears in her eyes.

“You look so beautiful.” I smiled.

“So do you.”

After the minister spoke a few words, we said our vows to each other and exchanged rings.

“I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride, Carter.”

With a smile, I wrapped my arm around Zoey’s waist, dipped, and kissed her passionately. Everyone shouted and clapped as we shared our first kiss as husband and wife.

“I love you, Mrs. Kind.”

“I love you too, Mr. Kind.” She grinned.

After the photographer took several pictures, we headed to the restaurant for dinner, where we celebrated the night away with fine food, drinks, and a cake that didn’t even compare to Zoey’s.

Three Months Later

The past three months were crazy with our wedding, Gabriel’s wedding, and our reception planning, which turned out exceptional.

“Are you two ready to see how much your baby has grown?” Georgia smiled as she placed the transducer on Zoey’s belly.

I held her hand tight as tears sprung to my eyes while I stared at the beautiful baby we had made.

“The baby looks very healthy and is growing right on schedule.”

“Can you tell the sex?” Zoey asked.

“Yes.” Georgia grinned. “Are you sure you want to know now? Just let us throw you a gender reveal party.”

“We love you, Georgia, but Zoey and I want to throw our own party and reveal it to the family.”

“Fine. Are you ready?”

“We’re ready.” I squeezed Zoey’s hand.

“Congratulations. You’re having a girl.”

“Oh, my God.” Zoey glanced at me.

I leaned over and kissed her lips. “We’re having a girl.”

After we left Georgia’s office, I dropped Zoey off at the bakery so she could make the cupcakes for tonight.
