“Leave me alone,” I say softly, hoping it’s enough to keep him away.

“Is that really what you want, Olson? You’ve grown into such a beautiful woman.”

“You make me sick,” I snap before turning and shoving him back a step. He doesn’t care. He just smirks and steps back into my space. He’s so fucking close I can smell his expensive cologne, and it makes me gag.

“Getting a little feisty, I see,” he says, lifting his hand to trail his fingers down my arm. I take another deep breath and prepare myself for what’s to come when Ridge walks into the room. I almost cry out in joy when I see his face. He looks between the two of us before he moves. He grabs my uncle bythe back of his neck and drags him across the room. My uncle screams for my mom, who comes rushing into the room along with everyone else.

“What the hell is going on?” My mom yells loudly.

“You might have put your hands on her before, but you will never do it again,” Ridge growls before turning him in his hand and slamming his fist into my uncle's face. My mom yells louder, but no one is listening to her. All they see is Ridge beating the shit out of my uncle in my kitchen.

I should stop this. In fact, my mom is begging me to, but I can’t. I don’t want to. I want him to see how it feels to be on the receiving end of things. I want him to feel what it was like for me not to be able to fight back.

The more he punches him, the more blood sprays across the kitchen floors. Tears spill down my cheeks when he finally stops. He looks up, his eyes coming directly to mine, and I cock my head to the side to study him.

“Everyone out. Take your shit and get the fuck out of her house,” he says, moving his gaze to my family.

“That isn’t your decision,” my mom snaps at him. He glances back at me before sliding his eyes back over to hers and smirks.

“Oh, yeah, it is. And I said get the fuck out before I beat the fuck out of all of you no good fuckers. You let this happen to her. All of you knew. All of you knew what that sick fuck was doin’ to her, and you let it happen!” Ridge roars louder this time before kicking my uncle in the ribs. He groans as my cousins and aunts slowly slip out of the room, but my mom stays rooted in her place.

“You’re going to allow this … this scum to throw us out of here?” she asks me. I swipe at the tears that keep falling as I nod my head.

“I’ve had enough. This isn’t my life. It’s yours. And I don’t want it anymore. I’ve taken enough from you, from all of you.I shouldn’t have to endure this every year. I shouldn’t have to endure this ever. Ridge is right. Get your brother and get the hell out of my house.” I turn my back now. I grab the bottle of Jack that sits on my counter, unscrewing the cap before bringing it to my lips and taking a long pull. I hear my uncle groan behind me as someone pulls him off the floor.

“You’ll regret this one day!” My mom says before I turn to face her.

“You never regretted a day of this, though, right? What I’ve been through, what I’ve had to endure so you can live your fancy life. You never batted an eye when I told you what he did to me,” I tell her, nodding toward my uncle, who now hangs off her arm.

“You were a child,” she snaps at me.

“A child who should have been protected! But instead, I was used. Just like I’ve been used all my fucking adult life. I’m tired of it. I’m tired of being taken advantage of,” I yell back at her. Ridge motions for them to go, and it only takes a few minutes before I hear the doors slam. Then, the house is quiet once more.

“Do you know how fuckin’ proud of you I am?” I lift the bottle to my lips as I stare at Ridge.

“For what? Losing my entire family the second they got here?”

“For standin’ up for yourself. Fuck, Olson. That was the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen you do.” I bark out a laugh before taking another long pull.

“Now it’s just me.”

“No, it’s not. I’m here.”

“You have family, Ridge. I don’t expect you to spend your Christmas with me.”

“Didn’t ask what you expected. Grab a jacket,” he tells me. I shake my head, not sure what the hell he’s doing, but I set the bottle down and walk to the living room, grabbing my coat. I slip it on when he follows behind me and grabs my hand in his.

“What’s this?”

“This is us, Olson. We’re fucked up. We’re from different worlds, but we’re us. Let’s go have some fun,” he says. I nod my head just as he pulls his cell out and types out a message. Then he’s pulling me out the door and straight for the car.

Ridge

The clubhouse is packed with everyone and their families celebrating. I’m happy I was able to come too. Even happier Olson is with me.

“What the hell are you doin’ here?” Cage asks as we walk in, and I take Olson’s coat off.
