“Didn’t know I wasn’t invited,” I tell him with a smirk.

“I thought you had plans with her family.”

“He threw them out,” she says over the music blasting in the background. He looks from her to me, and I shrug. It had to be done. She needed to do it. I was just the helping hand in all of this.

“You threw her family out?” he asks.

“Somethin’ like that.”

“Well fuck. I’m glad you’re here. You, too,” he says to Olson. She smiles, her eyes shining in the dim light of the room. It’s Christmas Eve. She should be happy. She should be smiling, and I want to make sure that she does.

“Dance with me,” I tell her as I slide my hand into hers and pull her toward the crowd in the middle of the room. She follows behind me, but I can tell she’s a little unsure of all this. It doesn’tmatter, not tonight. I spin her around and pull her into my arms, moving to the music as it plays.

I spin her and pull her back into me, listening as she laughs out loud. I don’t think that’s something she’s done in a very long time. Olson smiles, and it’s the most perfect smile I think I’ve ever seen.

“You’re a good dancer,” she tells me.

“You like how I move, Princess?”

“I love how you move,” she giggles before I pull her back into me.

We dance like this for a long time. I don’t bother checking the time. I don’t care that we’re both sweating. All I care about is that her smile stays in place. I just want to see Olson happy, and I think right now, she is.

I twirl her, dip her, then pull her up and kiss her. And I can’t stop kissing her. I kiss her until she’s breathless. I kiss her until I can’t breathe. I kiss her until both of us are panting and pawing at each other. Everything about this moment with her feels right. Everything about being with her feels right. And yet, in the back of my head, I know she’s going to be gone one day. I don’t like the feeling I get when I think about that.

“You have me now,” she says as if she can read my mind.

“And I plan on keepin’ you until you have to leave.”

“You do?”

“Yeah, I do. When is that anyway?”

“Two days,” she tells me. I know that’s not long. I know I don’t have much time left with her, but I want her. I want that time. I want whatever it is she is willing to give me because there is just something I love about being around her. After being with her every day for over a month, I feel closer to her than I ever have any other woman. It’s stupid and a bit strange, but it’s the truth.

My hands clasp around her waist as I tug her impossibly closer to me. The music keeps playing, and people keep laughing. Smoke rises from people smoking; stale liquor can be smelt in the air, but all I can see is her. I cup her face in one hand and pull her mouth back to mine.

“You make me crazy,” I tell her.

“I feel the same way about you. Tell me you’ll come visit,” she says, the sound of begging in her tone.

“I’ll come visit.” The smile that crosses her face is the brightest I’ve ever seen. She leans in and kisses me this time, and I let her. Her tongue slides into my mouth, and everything around us fades into the background. Feeling her in my arms gives me a feeling I never thought I’d have. It feels right. It feels perfect, and it’s not something I’m going to be able to let go of easily, and I know it’s going to be hard on me. I know it’s going to be hard on her too.

“Merry Christmas, Olson.” She looks up at me, big blue eyes shining brightly.

“Merry Christmas, Ridge.”

“Merry fuckin’ Christmas!” I hear Cage roar over the crowd. We all laugh as we continue to dance as drinks are passed around the room. Olson takes a shot and downs it quickly before grabbing another and smirking at me.

“You plan on gettin’ drunk?”

“I’m already a little tipsy,” she says, and I remember the drinks she had at the house.

“Don’t get too drunk. I wanna fuck you so good when we get back to your house,” I tell her truthfully. She smiles, and I melt. She’s everything. Fuck how am I going to let her go? I reach up and run my fingers through her long blonde hair, loving the softness on my skin.

“I won’t drink anymore,” she says softly.

“You can drink. I just don’t want you too drunk to enjoy it,” I tell her.
