This time I win and he groans but doesn’t look that upset about me winning.
“Let’s go!” he says, hurrying to put on his shoes.
“Hold up, son. We need to pack a bag,” Ryker tells Martin.
“And I should feed your sister.”
I take Isla and head into the nursery to nurse her. Ryker comes in a moment later and pushes some hair back from my face.
“Martin wants to know if we have time to practice shifting,” he says and I laugh.
“Yeah, for a few minutes anyway.”
Ryker smiles softly and leans down to kiss me. He’s been working with Martin to show him how to shift and how to control his wolf. It’s been cool to see all that goes into being a shifter.
My mate stands, pushing my glasses further up my nose and I smile gratefully at him.
“Let me know when you’re ready to go. I packed snacks and stuff already.”
“Okay, shouldn’t be long.”
He nods, leaning down and stealing one more kiss.
“Love you, mate.”
“I know. It’s a curse, huh,” I joke and he laughs.
“More like a blessing.”
I smile and watch as my handsome man heads out to play with our son. He's right. This life with him, is a blessing. I'm just grateful I was able to convince him of that.
