The look on his face is almost comical. Brady is so lost without his control, but I’m not compromising on this. He wants back in? Then, he needs to prove it.

QUINN

I’m still adjusting to how things have changed now that I’m a claimed omega. Brady is still figuring out his place, but to his credit, he hasn’t tried to take control again. Dylan and Austin are...exhausting in the best of ways. My mates—Brady included—are almost all I can think about.

Which makes trying to focus during an interview nearly impossible. I’m set up at the dining room table, since it has the best lighting, but every time I catch sight of one of the guys walking by, it takes all of my will not to end the interview.

“Well, Ms. Fairport, I’ll be honest, we need help. There are a lot of audits going on and a lot of transactions to review. How do you feel about becoming my star ticker and tier?”

Ticking and tying, making sure the transactions add up. It’s not a glorious job, but it’s better than having to delay my graduation longer than I already have.

“That sounds amazing.” I beam at Mr. Wallace. So far, he’s been wonderful. He has a kind smile and more than a few wrinkles edging his mouth and eyes, but they’re all formed from years of laughing and smiling.

“Perfect. I’ll expect you in on Monday. We’re casual around here, so no need to wear a jacket or anything, but we do require business attire. Just dress like you’re excited to come to work.”

“I am excited!”

He grins. “Good. Have a great weekend, Ms. Fairport. Calla, your work buddy, will meet you at the front desk and get you settled. I’ll have her send over the new hire paperwork as well, so we can get that out of the way.”

“Perfect! Thank you so much for the opportunity.”Thank you for saving my degree.

“You’re welcome. Bye, bye now.”

Dylan bursts into the dining room as I shut the laptop lid. “Did you get it?”

“I got it!”

“Hell yeah, Quinny!” He yanks me from my seat and pulls me into a spinning hug.

I laugh and wiggle in his hold. “Let me down.”

“Don’t tell me what to do.”

“Dylan,” I warn and he huffs, sliding me down his body and dropping me onto the ground. “Thank you.”

He drops a quick kiss on my lips. “You’re welcome.”

A dopey grin tugs at my mouth. Austin clears his throat and we look over, finding him with Brady. The brothers have forgiven him for the most part, but Dylan still steps closer, like he’s worried he’ll need to save me.

“I guess this calls for a special dinner?”

Oh. Oh shit. With everything, I’d forgotten the promise I made my mom. “I can’t.”

“What, why?” Dylan asks.

“I have a date.”

“She didn’t have a choice,” Brady quickly adds. “Gwen set it up.”

“I can cancel.” I grab my phone to text my mom. I should have canceled the moment we all decided to see where things went, but I was preoccupied, and by the time today rolled around, it felt too late. I don’t want my mom’s friend to be pissed at my mom.

“Wait.”

I pause and glance at Brady.

Austin lifts an eyebrow. “What?”
