“I don’t think she’ll let me take her out on a date,” he snaps back at me. “If I thought she’d let me take her to dinner or even lunch then I would go for it.”

“You’re not wrong,” Kemp says, amusement in his voice. “I think if we push her a little then we can get her to that point. She’ll be going on dates with us and living here before we know it.”

“Jordan is supposed to be the overly optimistic one between us,” Lachlan snarks and I can’t help but grin at my brothers.

“What? I can’t find the silver lining or some shit?” Kemp grouses and glares right back at him.

“Welcome to the bright side,” I chirp, and Kemp flips me off.

Quiet descends upon us while we eat, and I know we’re all making plans on how we’re going to get closer to Lennon. I’m glad Kemp said something because I think he’s right—we’ve given her enough time to come to terms with who we are and the night we spent together.

Do I think she’ll fall into our arms now? No, but I don’t mind putting in the work to show her what she means to us. If it means we get to spend time around her and no longer allow her to avoid us all the time, then it’s a good plan as far as I’m concerned.

“Lia cornered me today before I left the office. It’s why I was late,” Lachlan’s voice is low, and I can hear the venom there.

I roll my eyes because Lia has been trying to get in our pants since the moment she came on as a realtor. She loves to shove her tits in our faces and doesn’t really care which one of us she snags. I’m not sure how she hasn’t figured out it’s not going to happen.

None of us have given her any indication that we were interested in her. Because we aren’t.

“What happened?” There’s a growl in Kemp’s voice as he asks. Lia went after Kemp the last time she launched an attack to get one of the Winston brothers and he’s still salty about it.

“I was putting my coffee cup back in the break room and she popped in like she belonged there.” He shakes his head in disgust. “She shouldn’t have even been on our floor and I made sure to tell her that. Again.”

Lachlan huffs out a breath and pouts. It’s kind of funny how he’s so put out by a beautiful woman coming on to him. But I know he is and why.

Every time we’ve turned Lia down, she acts flabbergasted by the fact that we wouldn’t fall over ourselves to be with her. She’s the kind of woman who has always been able to land any man she wants. Until us.

I hope she doesn’t cause any problems for Lennon. The thought makes me sit up straighter.

Dread creeps into my voice as I ask, “Was Lennon still in the office?”

“No, thankfully,” Lach snarls. “If she gets in my way of making our woman ours, I’m going to be pissed.”

I know he will be. I would be right there with him. Nothing is going to stand in the way of Lennon being ours.

Not another woman who thinks we should be chasing her. Not even Lennon herself.

Once we get Lennon on our side then it’ll be time to have a hard conversation with Dad and Abigail. I want to believe that they’ll support us because they love us and want us to be happy.

Still, a feeling of dread settles around me. What if they are against us being together? What if they think it’s disgusting even though we haven’t done anything wrong, not really.

Sure, it sounds taboo on paper, but it’s not as sordid as it sounds. We only met a week ago, though we’ve been pining for Lennon for years.

I take a deep breath and work with my brothers to get dinner cleaned up in silence before we go our separate ways for the night. Once Lennon is where she belongs—with us—I’m looking forward to spending time together as a family.

For now, we go to our own corners and brood while making plans.

Lennon has no idea what is coming for her, but we’re all determined to move this along. I pity anyone who gets in our way.

CHAPTER 10

LENNON

Fucking Mondays, am I right? I laid in bed this morning for long enough that I was almost late this morning. I knew it wouldn’t be a good look though, no matter what my contract says. I’m determined to make this job work for me and to make the most of it.

Going out with Gia a few nights ago was exactly what I needed. I got to spend some time with my new friend and didn’t have to look over my shoulder to see if one of the Winston brothers was close by. It felt like I couldn’t relax all last week.

Okay, not entirely true. The orgasm Jordan gave me in his office was relaxing as hell, but that’s not the point. I’m not counting it and have been trying to forget all about it for days.
