“Not having my wife become a whore.”

“Had to ask, man. So, this is how this is going to go,” Montana began. “Fury is going to marry you two. He went online and did whatever he needed to do to make it legal. Once you both say the words, Largo, you will answer every fucking question we ask. You leave anything out and what happens tonight will feel like child’s play. Got me?”

“I understand,” I murmured, looking at Caleb, needing to see some emotion from him, to let me know that the man I loved and trusted was still in there somewhere.

When Caleb refused to look at me, my heart fell.

“Fury, get this shit done fast,” Montana ordered, walking over to the wall, as the fun, loveable brother I adored stepped in front of me and Caleb.

“You want the long or short version?”

“Just say the fucking words,” Caleb hissed, grabbing my wrist, yanking me closer to him. I could feel the anger radiating off him in waves. He had every right to be angry with me.

I hurt him the most.

“Short version it is,” Fury quipped before clearing his voice. “Caleb Davenport, you want Largo?”

“Yes.”

“Largo Davenport, you want Mercy?”

“Yes.”

“Good, you’re married,” Fury finished before walking back over to the wall.

Not technically what I had in mind, but as long as it was legal, I didn’t care. It didn’t matter though because the second Fury said the words, Montana wasted no time before demanding I talk.

I would have thought that Caleb would stay beside me, moral support and all that jazz, but I was wrong on that account too because the second Montana growled, “Speak,” Caleb left me standing in the middle of the room to stand with his brothers.

Looking at all the faces I loved and considered my family, I took a deep breath and began the story I’d kept hidden most of my life.

“My real name is Largo Josephine Winters. My father is, sorry, was, Daniel Shawn Winters, former captain in the United States Navy. My brother was Landon James Winters,” I statedclearly, then stopped to take a breath, looking at Fury before I added, “And my mom’s name was Julianna Claire Guillermo Winters.”

Like I expected, Fury stiffened before taking a step forward.

“What the fuck did you just say?”

“My mom was a Guillermo.”

“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me?!”

“What?” Caleb questioned angrily, looking from me to his brother.

“Holy fuck,” Fury shouted before rounding on Caleb and his brothers. “She’s my fucking cousin! My family will kill me if I harm one hair on her head.”

“What the fuck are you talking about?” Montana asked, looking at me, then at Fury.

Taking the lead, I admitted, “He’s referring to my mom being his mother’s half-sister.”

Fury faced me and growled, “It’s more than that and you fucking know it, Cuz.”

I nodded. “You’re right, but my mom was never part of that life. She wanted nothing to do with it. That’s why she left and married my dad. It has no bearing on what’s going on here.”

“The fuck it doesn’t, Largo. When the family learns what really happened, they are going to want retribution. Your mother, my aunt, was supposed to be the head of the family. She couldn’t just walk away from that. The family wouldn’t allow it.”

“I don’t know what to tell you, Fury. It’s complicated, but she did. We lived in San Diego until I turned eight. Mom rarely talked about her family, even though we lived in one of her ancestral homes.”

“Jesus Christ,” Fury moaned, raking his hands through his hair.
