Sighing, I picked it up, reading the text.

Sighing, I got up from the table, then quickly kissed the top of my daughter’s head. “I gotta go, sweetie. You be a good girl for Grandma today and we’ll watchAntmantonight. Okay?”
My beautiful daughter smiled up at me. “With popcorn and ice-cream?”

Heading for the elevator, Sophia ran after me.
“Dad, here!” she said, handing me the drawing she made for her mother. Taking it from her, I smiled, looking at what she drew.

Entering the clubhouse, I headed straight for my office, only to be stopped when I heard Montana call out when I passed his personal office.
“Mercy. Got a meeting later tonight.”
Leaning against the doorjamb, I crossed my arms.

“And you needed me because?”
Montana looked up from his desk and scowled. “Because you’re my fucking VP, asshole. Besides, it’s your fucking wife this club is dealing with at the moment. Speaking of which. Why is she still fucking here and not at home where she belongs?”
“Don’t want her around Sophia.”
“She’s her mother, Mercy, or have you forgotten that part?”
“Like I can forget it,” I muttered. “My kid looks just like the bitch.”

“I fucking know what day of the week it is, Montana. Your point?”
Leaning back in his chair, my president sighed. “My point is, Illyria is bringing over a new crop of scholarship applicants and you’re going to need to be here.”

“Your wife will also be here unless you take her home.”
