I make my way to Mick, holding out my hand.

He stares at it before gingerly lifting his hand to mine. He pulls me into an embrace and slaps my back. “You’ve got a couple of hours before them pigs start waking up. Okay?”

I nod.

“Be safe.”

I pull back and attempt a smile. The loud bang of the back of the lorry shutting, rings in my ears. “Some of my men will stay here. You know who to call if you need anything.”

He nods.

Patting his arm, I then turn, heading towards Travis. We mount our bikes. Beats is driving the lorry, Billy and Skitz riding up front with him.

Jack comes over as I adjust my top button. He gestures towards it, and I grab my helmet off the bars. “Stay out of sight. Only move once my men are out of there.”

“I’ll wait for your signal,” he says. Jack walks to his truck, running a hand through his hair.

I scan everyone as they start to move, taking this all in.

This has to work.

Chapter Forty-Five

NOT SO UNKNOWN

Fuckin’ Christ, that was unreal. How we scraped through that little shit storm is beyond me. The pigs though? That was a nice touch on Travis’ behalf.

Driving as fast as I can, I’m desperate to get the man responsible for killing Mum. He may be wanted for multiple crimes, but there’s no way he’s getting away this time. He’s mine. ASIS said I could do what I want with him, and I swear on my mother’s grave, he’s going to feel every bit of rage that has fuckin’ driven me to this moment.

Closure. Peace. Revenge.

It’s almost mine.

The satnav shows I’m twenty minutes away from the docks. Deano should be arriving there now. Making me double take, one of the phones on the front seat next to me starts ringing. I pick it up, momentarily peering at the screen. I don’t recognise the name, but when the other phones start simultaneously lighting up, I pull the truck over with a screech.

Can’t be a coincidence that the dead men we took them off are all suddenly receiving calls.

Trusting my gut, I call one of my guys running surveillance. The call doesn’t connect. I frown checking the screen, then try again. No answer.

Shit.

Quickly finding his contact, I call Sean. “Something’s fuckin’ wrong,” I blurt when he answers. “Surveillance aren’t answering, and the phones I took off Costa’s men are blowing up.”

“Let me check surveillance.” I hear him tap buttons. “Shit. We’ve lost comms.”

I slap the wheel. “What about these phones?”

“Where are you now?”

I take a breath. “Still twenty minutes away from the docks.”

I hear Sean tapping more keys in the background. “Head there as planned; we’ve got to assume they’re on to us. I’ll send my team to the farm.”

“Fuck. Okay. I’ll call the Rippers, let them know to start getting those people out of there. Keep me updated.”

I make my call and floor it to the docks, having to park a mile away to avoid being spotted. Grabbing what I need from the truck, I quickly open the live feed to Dean. It shows him walking, the camera picking up men carrying crates to the boat. I sigh a breath of relief, then turn, running in the direction of my men.

I need to be quick. Need to be with my team ready to move once we get the signal.
