Chapter Sixteen
Nikita
Iwoke up in Fin’s arms. His scent of forest rain and Birchwood calmed me. I could lie in his arms forever. Fin started to stir beside me and I wiggled out of his embrace. The sun was starting to rise over the hilltops. It was time to get ready and leave.
“Feisty wolf come back to bed.” Fin’s sleep filled voice urged me from my bed. My gaze went to him lying on the bed, a playful smile on his lips. I shimmied into my panties before pulling on the tank top that I had put out the night before.
“That would be a negative. It’s about time to leave.” I answered him as I searched for my leggings that I loved. Where the fuck did they go?
“Well, if that’s true, then you should definitely put some pants on. Otherwise, I’m going to shred those panties and take you before we leave.” The huskiness in his tone stopped my search for my leggings and brought my eyes back to him. Fin sat on the side of the bed, his right hand stroking his cock as his eyes stared back at me. The morning sun caressed his skin and brought out the definition of his shoulders and arms.
Turning to face him, I crossed my arms and cocked my hip to the side. While I gave him a defiant look. “Really? Did that work with all the other females you had been with?”
“Yeah. But none of them had made me feel the way you have.” He smirked as he continued to stare at me and stroking himself. His eyes went to the door just before the knock sounded on the wooden barrier.
“Alpha Fin. The cars are being pulled around.”
I didn’t recognize the wolf’s voice through the door. He must have been Fin’s beta. Fin sighed and stood, his cock standing at attention as he made his way to me. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out this male before me. Fin’s hand came to my face, and he ran a knuckle down my cheek and then to where my mark would sit. His eyes resting on the unmarked flesh.
“When you are ready. It will excite me to have my mark right here.” Fin’s breath fanned over near the barren place in the crook of my neck.
I stared up at him. If there were any chance that he would be able to mark me. I would welcome it. Of course, if he didn’t find out the intentions of my Alpha to use me to kill him, I would allow him to mark me.About time you think like that! Yes, that was true, but would he believe me if I told him what my Alpha wanted from me? Or would he think I was lying and kill me? Would he kill me? The mate that he had been searching for? Because he had already told me that he wouldn’t reject me. Knowing that the Moon Goddess would punish him again. So would he kill me?
Giving him a small smile, I went back to looking for my pants. By the time I found them, because they weren’t where I had placed them the night before, Fin was already dressed and holding my bags. There wasn’t much for me to take with me. I wasn’t a material type of she-wolf who had to have things to make her happy. Unlike another certain she-wolf.
Training made me happy. Staying to myself made me happy. Running patrol made me happy. So, there wasn’t much of anything to pack other than my clothes. I wondered since I was Luna if Fin would still allow me to train. If he didn’t, there would be no other way than to sneak and train.
“Are you ready to meet your pack, my feisty wolf?”
Fin’s voice brought me out of my thoughts as he handed my bag to his beta with the door wide open. A few wolves were trying hard not to stare as I came out of my room with Fin. I have never been embarrassed because I know the wolves that stared at me couldn’t ever bring me down.
I passed Crystal and her posse of she-wolves. Each of them openly eyed me and Fin as we made our way down the hall and to the vehicles. Alpha Roy and Luna Adia stood on the porch steps and Delta Kyle stood near the door of the cars. Luna Adia wrapped me in a hug. I had become close to her when she came to the pack.
“Nikita, you are going to be an amazing Luna! I’m going to miss you though! You will have to call me.” She had tears in her eyes as we pulled apart. She was probably the only one that I would miss from here.
“I will Luna. You take care of yourself.”
Alpha Roy was trying to hold his features in check, but wasn’t doing such a good job at it. He was going to give us away before I even left the pack. Fin was shaking his hand, and the betas were saying their goodbyes. I spun around and couldn’t help the overwhelming feeling sinking in my stomach. I would never return to this place. Either because I was the Luna of Dolostone or Fin’s pack had killed me for killing their alpha.
“Nikita?” Fin’s voice came from behind me and he had his hand out to me for me to take. I slipped my hand in his and walked past my Alpha. He was snarling in my head because I didn’t acknowledge him. But if I did, he was going to ruin everything.
Fin let me in the vehicle first and then slid in with me. His beta climbed in the front seat and started the SUV. Fin took hold of my hand and brought it up to his lips. The shiver that raced along my skin with the sparks was nothing more than erotic. I didn’t know how I was going to kill him if he continued to be like this to me.
Blushing, I pulled my hand from his and turned to the scene outside of my window. Fin scooted closer to me and turned my face. He was gentle with his thumb caressing my bottom lip. I wanted to pull it into my mouth and suck on it.
“Are you missing your pack this soon?” The way those dark eyes bore into mine was anything but torture. How wrong he was. I was just trying to keep from falling even further down this mountain with him.
“No, I don’t miss it. I’m nervous and I’ve never been away from my pack before by myself.” I told him. Hoping against hope that he would leave it at that.
“It’s okay to be nervous. But my pack is going to love you.” His thumb continued to lightly rub against my lips as he stared at me.
“Yeah, unless you have some ex-girlfriend that still wants you.” I chuckled until I spotted his raised eyebrow. “You don’t have some she-wolf that you’ve been with after your chosen?”
“No, and yes. But not from my pack. That just makes bad blood. I’ve seen what happens to packs when that happens. So I made sure I never slept with a female from my pack.” Fin’s features crushed my soul. He wasn’t anything like Alpha Roy. He had slept with so many of the unmated she-wolves in the pack, it was unreal. And when I came of age and didn’t find my mate, he had tried to get me to get in bed with him.
“While you were a rogue?” I pressed as he turned his gaze back to me.
