“Who was that Olli wolf?” I asked as we headed in. Part of me wanted to follow them to the office but then I didn’t know if Fin would want me in there with them. He might have business that I didn’t need to be in there for.
“He’s a wolf that was with Fin when they were looking for Alpha Nolen. He stops by sometimes to check in. Olli is a good friend.” Bella smiled at me as she explained who he was.
So he was one of the rogues that he sometimes talked about. I wonder why he didn’t talk about him as much. I mean he seemed to be a big part of Fin’s life. Following Bella down the other hall I started hearing pups cry.
“Luna I don’t believe you’ve been to the nursery yet. I know that Fin has been keeping you occupied for a while. But I figure now would be a good time to show you.” She opened the door and I stepped in with her. “A few of the she-wolves have had their pups. I didn’t know if you had one at your pack.”
“We didn’t have one. Alpha Roy didn’t like the idea of having pups in the pack house that didn’t need to be. He hated the crying. So a lot of the females had to bring their pups with them to do their chores.” I walked around the room and the pups seemed to quieten. This pack was so different than what I had come from.
“Well, sounds like he needs to be a little easier on the she-wolves. It takes a pack to raise pups. Not individuals.” Bella’s eyes hardened as she glanced over at me and then at the little ones sleeping in the cribs.
“I’m glad that we are not like that.” I told her while I stared at a pup that had dark hair like Fin. What would our pup look like? Would he or she look more like him or me? Since he was an alpha I figured his genes would come out more dominate.
We headed back out of the nursery to allow the pups to sleep. Three females sat on couches watching them and nodded as we left. The way packs differed so much was crazy. You would think since we were wolves that we would all value our packmates. But it seemed that some didn’t have that natural protective instinct.
“I never thought you’d say we.”
“Why? This is my pack now too, right?” I stopped, bringing Bella to a stop too.
“Yes, you are and I’m glad that you are. You have brought a breath of fresh air to this pack.” Bella caressed my cheek before turning and heading up the hall.
At the end of the hall, I turned up the stairs. I needed to change into something that wouldn’t have Fin going crazy if an unmated male saw me. As big as this shirt was it was still not something that could be bent over in. Reaching the door to the alpha suite I pushed it open and shut it back with my foot.
The first day that I came into this room would still be etched in my memories. I had never seen a room so big and the way it was decorated screamed bachelor. But it had its charms. Over the last few months, I had added a few things of me.
Heading over to our bedroom I jerked the shirt off and left it in the living room on the couch. I hoped that Fin wouldn’t be too long with Harlen and Olli. Even being out of my heat now I still wanted him. But I can control my urges now.
I went into the bathroom and started the bath. After the run this morning, my body felt heavy and tired. I turned the water on and waited for the bath to be filled. Standing in the shower didn’t appeal to me, so I stepped into the water. I couldn’t help but moan as the hot water started to work out the tension in my muscles.
My hair and face submerged in the bath. I laid there for a while as the steam from the hot water fogged the mirrors of the bathroom. It was such a beautiful room. The soft white tones mixed with grey and blue. A claw foot tub stood in the middle of the ceramic tiled floor. Pulling in the beauty.
Goddess this was something I didn’t ever think I could get used to but being here made me think that I was meant to be here. I couldn’t ever think that this was my destiny, but I would walk through this life just to be by Fin’s side. He sometimes wanted to be big bad but most of the time he was a big pup.
Sometimes it’s good to allow someone to take care of you. That is what mates are for. They protect one another.Enyo spoke up while I leaned my head back against the edge of the tub.
That’s true but can I allow him to?
Enyo shook her head and laid it on her front paws. She was my one and only friend since I was a pup. I had never been alone my entire life even though it seemed like I had been.
Chapter Thirty-Two
Fin
Isat at my desk as Harlen and Olli sat in front of me in the high back chairs. This room had been completely renovated from what my uncle had done to it. Harlen had saved a few of the alpha books that had been passed down from alpha to alpha. Along with things that my mother had.
New bookshelves and furniture had been purchased. It had been stripped to the bones and new walls were put up. When the entire house had been stripped, I slept outside in my wolf form. A few of the wolves had offered me a room at their house but I was still so used to sleeping outside.
Everything had worked itself out and the packhouse had come back to its grandeur. The way a packhouse should look and the way a pack should look as a whole.
“So Olli, what brings you all the way out here?”
“Just letting you know the school is being built and is almost finished. We should be able to start admitting students next year. It will be small the first year but I feel that it will grow. How has the alliances been going?” Olli stared at me. I could tell he had a question about something but he wasn’t ready to ask.
I had noticed that he was staring at Nikita a lot and I wondered if he knew anything about her and her pack. If anyone knew anything it would be Olli. He was just as wise as an elder. Maybe even more so.
“It’s going. I only have one pack that has become an issue. My Luna’s birth pack’s alpha is upset that she went against his orders and allowed me to mark her. She then told me that he wanted her to kill me since I had taken a chosen. That chosen was his cousin.” I sat up and rested my hands on the new desk that graced my office.
“I thought her birth pack was killed by your uncle?” Olli questioned me.
