Nikita read over the small chapter and then glanced up at me. She placed it on the desk before sitting down in one of the chairs. “I think I’m related to Alpha Nolen.”

“What do you mean?”

“Have you not read the full prophecy?” Nikita glanced over to me and she slid the book across the desk to me.

Opening it I went to the chapter and read through it. She was right it mentioned two sisters and one would give birth to the prophesied alpha. If Nolen’s mother gave birth to him then there was a good chance that she was Nikita’s aunt. “Well, the only way to know is to go and ask her.”

“Or you could ask the elder that is here in this room with you.” My gaze went to Olli along with Nikita’s.

Fuck, why didn’t I realize that Olli would know who her aunt was? “Okay, well all knowing elder why don’t you tell us if she is Nikita’s aunt?”

“She is. And I’m sure she would like to meet you.” Olli smiled widely at Nikita.

“Do you think? I mean she thinks I’m dead.” I could hear the sorrow in her voice.

“I’m sure of it. She was very distraught when she found out her sister was murdered. I’m sure she would like to connect to her last living relative.” Olli bowed his head to her. “I think I’m going to get us something to eat.”

“I can send for someone to bring us something.” I glanced up at the aging wolf.

“It’s okay. It gives these old bones something to do.” He bowed his head and left out the door.

“So has Alpha Roy tried to contact you about his missing Luna?” Nikita turned to me as I sat back down to work on my computer.

“Alpha Roy’s Luna is here? Why haven’t I seen her?” Harlen got up and came to the desk staring at the both of us.

“The wolves that came to the dinner. They told us she was found dead on our territory. She has been in our morgue. Doc has determined that all the wolves that have been sent to our territory have been poisoned by the same thing.” I answered him.

The shock that graced his face told me the same thing that we had been thinking. Harlen dropped down in the other high-backed chair. His hand went to his jaw as he continued to stare off into space.

“So Alpha Roy doesn’t know that she is here? Or are you thinking that he is the one that killed her and put her on our territory?” Harlen’s gaze refocused as he questioned me.

“I don’t know. But I don’t think it is him bringing the bodies here and dropping them off. My scouts are not picking up his scent. But that doesn’t mean that he isn’t using someone else to do it.” I answered him. Sighing, I turned off the computer. I wasn’t getting much done with the three of them in here.

The doors to my office opened and Olli came in along with two omegas. They each had a tray with food and drinks on them. My stomach growled at the pleasant smell of the food that had been brought in. Nikita turned and I could see her nostrils flaring as she took in the smell.

“I figured everyone was hungry. So I brought different things.” Olli had the omegas sit everything on the table and thanked them as they headed out of the room.

“Thanks Olli.” Nikita went to the table and started in on the food. Olli grabbed him something from the table along with Harlen.

I came around the desk and found what the smell was that had my stomach rumbling and basically cursing at me for waiting this long to feed it. Sitting beside Nikita I dug in the food. Everything was silent as we all ate the food that Olli had gone to get.

“I think we need to call Alpha Nolen and see if his mother would speak with us.” Olli sat back taking a sip of his drink as we all stuffed our faces.

“I would like that, Olli. But I really want to finish the book before we contact her. I want to make sure she was on good terms with her sister before I start bugging her.” Nikita was always weary when it came to things like this.

“Of course Luna. I wouldn’t want to put you in anything awkward.” Olli bowed his head and placed his glass down on the tray.

Nikita and Olli stayed in the office talking about what she had learned in the book. I had to get out of the stuffy room before I burst. Harlen walked with me to the inner part of the territory where the shops were. It had been a while since I had last come down here.

“So, Fin what are you thinking about these happenings?” Harlen was all for keeping the pack safe and I felt like he didn’t like that I hadn’t contacted Alpha Roy yet. But Nikita had asked me not to until we figured out what was going on.

I still hadn’t heard from my informant that was at the Shonkinite pack which unnerved me. Part of me was hopeful that the wolf was fine and heading back here. But then it would be hard for them to get back here if they were trying to keep their pack safe. I hoped that they weren’t in a dungeon or dead.

I think mind linking would be safer. I don’t know what to do because I can’t wrap my head around killing my own mate. And if he didn’t, who did?

Yes, it is very odd especially since they are already marked and mated.

Harlen, how crazy did this part of the territory get while I was gone?
