“Come in,”

They both stepped in the office and shut the door. When I returned back I made sure when they renovated this office that they made the doors automatically shut and they were soundproof. If I learned anything as an alpha while my uncle was here was to keep your enemies as close as you can get them.

“Alpha you summoned us?”

I was glad that they didn’t kneel like my father had made them do before I came into power. As much as I was their leader I wasn’t someone they needed to kneel to.

“Yes, I have an important task for the two of you.” Conner and Blake didn’t even bat an eye or glance at each other. “If things turn to a fight I need you both to take your Luna and Beta Female to a secret location. You are not to tell anyone. This is to stay here between the four of us.”

“Of course Alpha!” They both answered me.

“Take a seat, this will be a very lengthy conversation.” I motioned to the high-backed chairs in front of me and they took the seats.

By the time I finished filling Blake and Conner in it was already dinner time. They left before I got up and watched the night patrols leave to the edge of the territory. I had to find that wolf if I didn’t. He was going to continue to be a threat to Nikita and my pup. Along with my pack.

I will have to get something quick and head out.

“Let’s go Harlen. I have patrol tonight.”

“Have you let the Luna know?” Harlen asked as he followed me out of the office and to the dining hall.

“No but I will let her know at the table. She will understand. It’s coming down to the wire and we still don’t know who this wolf is and why he is doing this between the packs.”

Harlen stayed silent behind me as we entered the large room. Nikita was up at the big table with Bella and Blake and Conner stood at the ends of the table. Heading over to Nikita I kissed her temple and then grabbed some of the food that was on the plate.

“Are you not eating tonight?” Her eyes went from the chicken leg in my hand to my face.

“I’m running patrols tonight. I will see you in the morning okay?” I could tell that she was upset that I hadn’t forewarned her but she kept her cool in front of the pack that was sitting in the dining room.

“Well stay safe, I don’t want to wake up a widow.”

I chuckled and kissed her lips this time. Causing some of the younger male wolves to wolf whistle. They were being boys and the girls weren’t quiet either. Their sighs told me they were on the same page as the boys.

Quickly heading out the door I pulled my shirt off as I stuffed the rest of the leg in my mouth. Shifting into Aloysius I bounded out to the edge of the territory. Tonight I was going to find this wolf and I was going to bring him down if it was the last thing I did.

I ran all night and nothing showed. No smell, no sight of this wolf, no nothing. It was getting to be morning as I continued down the path that had been worn into the ground. It would be the one night that I was on patrol that they wouldn’t show up.

Just means he’s a coward.

And how do you know that the wolf is a he?

I don’t I was merely stating that the wolf was a coward. I mean any true wolf with any dignity would show themselves and fight us.Aloysius came back at me.

I started to make a comeback to him when I smelled it. The wolf was here! Quickening my steps I raced after him. My belly brushed the grass and dirt as I sailed over it to find this wolf that was causing my pack trouble. Just as I was gaining on the wolf I lost him and now I knew that it was a male. I couldn’t refute the smell of another male wolf that I didn’t know on my territory.

Following him to the other edge of my territory I realized that he had gone over to the Shonkinite packs territory. That’s okay I will be waiting for him.

Alpha! The wolf is on the territory!

Capture him!

Blake, Conner take Luna and Beta Bella to the secret room.

Yes Alpha!

This wolf was mine now.
