Nikita rose from her seat with our son in her arms and grabbed her mother’s journal from my desk. She took it over to Nolen’s mother and then stood there. The dark-haired woman looked from the book to my mate before she opened it to the first page.

The hitch of her breath confirmed that she was my mate’s aunt and the tears that pooled in her eyes as she read through the first entry made it concrete. She stood from her seat and moved the hair from my mate’s face as she continued to study her features.

“But how? She told me that you had died. In her letter to me you were stillborn.”

“This here tells why. If you want to read it.” Nikita pointed to the book in her aunt’s hand. “She says why. I met my father, he told me what happened to her and my brother. He had gone insane. It all started after Wade took her from him.”

“I thought all my family had been lost that day. But you have been alive all this time? Where?” The way she held my mate’s face was just like any mother would to their child.

“I grew up in the Shonkinite pack. They trained me to be a warrior.”

Nolen’s mother dropped the journal and brought her other hand up to Nikita’s face and pulled her to her. Before letting her go. “I started asking questions and didn’t tell you my name. My name is Britona. I’m sure that you gave your opponents hell.”

“That she did. The first time I saw her. She was beating the shit out of a wolf ten times bigger than she was.” I chuckled as Britona turned her gaze to mine and then back to Nikita’s.

“I’m sure you did. Because you have your mother’s strength. And are an alpha born female. This little boy along with his cousins are the only ones that are born of two alphas. These three will be the strongest of them all.”

Nolen stood from the couch and pulled my mate into a hug. I didn’t have an issue with that. He was her family after all and I was glad that he and his mother were allowing her to be a part of that. This is what she was supposed to have. A family that was her blood, one that would forever be with her.

I continued to stand at my desk allowing them to bond. Her aunt finally reached out to hold Grayson. Britonia is right, he and his two sister cousins will be the strongest ones in the land. There is no doubt about that.
