“I only know the camp stuff. You’re outdoorsy, the kids love you, you’re funny and kind.”

Aiden kissed my temple.“That about sums me up, funny and kind.Horny a lot.Wants to be inside you so fucking much.”His words made me shudder with need, but I stayed focused on my objective.

I studied him.“But what do you do when you’re not at camp? You’re a business major? That doesn’t seem like you.”

He was quiet for a long moment.“I’m not sure I want you to see the other side of me, the way I am at college, or with my parents. The guy who goes along with their elitist bullshit and follows their rules.”

“Why wouldn’t you do the major you want to do?”

“Not everyone has a choice,” he said.“I’m thrilled for you that you got to choose your major, follow your dreams. But for me, it’s complicated. The family business takes priority over what I want.”

“Couldn’t you go out on your own?”

“I could, but I’d be truly on my own.I couldn’t afford to pay for college.Believe me, I’ve run the numbers. When I calculated out the student loans, the cost of living, covering all of my expenses, it was too much.”He sounded frustrated.“I have a trust fund, but I can’t access it until I’m 25.It’s supposed to be for buying a house when I get married.”

“Do you ever want to rebel?”I asked, threading my fingers through his and holding his hand against my heart. His voice was relaxed, but I could hear the pain behind his words.

“Camp is my rebellion. It’s where I get to do my thing, be myself.”

“But you won’t have camp forever,” I whispered.

He sighed.“No, I won’t.”

I hesitated to ask the next question because it was a lot.“Is being with me a rebellion?”

“I don’t know, honestly.If it is, I don’t give a fuck what they say.For once.”

“So I’m a bad influence.”

“No, you’re the best kind of influence.”He buried his face against my hair, like he was breathing me in.

I smiled and dropped it, not wanting to upset him more.I looked down at our joined hands, playing with his fingers as we watched the kids go crazy in the water.Slater had somehow already found a new little minion, and Beckett looked thrilled to be hanging out with Devon and Octavius.

“Hopefully we’ll have the tent to ourselves tonight,” I murmured.

He laughed softly.“I want you in my mouth so badly.I want to watch your face as you come apart from the way I’m licking and sucking you.”

“Right, well, now we have to sit like this until my awkward boner goes away.”

Itookmytimeputting the fire out and cleaning up camp, double and triple checking the food storage.Ir must have been obvious that I was procrastinating, because after a little while, a groggy-looking Jay wandered out of our tent.He was wearing that hoodie again, the one that made his hair all messy and adorable when he pulled the hood up.I impulsively leaned down and gave him a quick peck on the lips.

“If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were avoiding me,” he said.

“Me?Avoid you?No.Not in that hoodie,” I said.

He frowned down at his hoodie.“Are you making fun of me or complimenting me?I can’t quite tell.”

“Complimenting.I love you in a cute hoodie, looking all cozy.”I ruffled his hair, then kissed him again, moaning and deepening the kiss because his taste was like a drug, and I always needed more.Carding my hands through his hair, I gripped him and held him pinned as I devoured his mouth for a few minutes. When I pulled back, we were both breathing hard. The moonlight cast him in shadow, highlighting his swollen, gorgeous lips.

“Okay, I’ll buy that you’re not avoiding me,” he said with a sheepish smile.

“Might have been avoiding you a little.I’m nervous.”

He blinked.“About what?”
