“Too? How long has Nox been sleeping in your bed?” I ask, turning to Viv.

She shrugs. “Just the last two nights. Nothing too crazy.”

I raise a brow at her. “You know Nox, like, barely ever sleeps, right? He’s always had trouble with insomnia, but he looked like he was sleeping fine with you and you’re telling me he slept the night before too?” I look over at Sloane to confirm.

Sloane nods. “He was completely out yesterday morning when I got there.”

My brow furrows. Is it just Viv that helps him sleep, or has he been secretly getting some kind of treatment for his issues? I doubt it. None of us would feel comfortable enough to take any kind of sleep aid. It must be Viv, which is just strange. I would think that his insomnia would get worse with another person in the bed with him. If he’s doing better, though, there’s not really an issue. I’m actually really happy for him. If he can sleep better at night, maybe he can cut back on the caffeine.

Sloane shows up to my room half an hour after my last class. Final exams are coming up, so this would probably be the last fun thing I do before committing to studying like a maniac.

When he knocks at the door, I answer with a big smile on my face. He holds out a flat box to me awkwardly. I accept it, looking down to realize it’s a box of chocolate truffles. They’re even my favorite brand and everything. I can barely even remember telling him about them when he first started bringing me chocolate when I was tutoring him.

I give him a tight hug and a big smile. “Thank you.”

I set the box down on my desk and turn back to him. He’s wearing a soft gray henley and a pair of dark wash jeans. His green eyes sparkle as he takes in my favorite cream sweater and jeans. I didn’t bother changing after school, but I did spend the small amount of time I had putting on some light makeup. Sandy even let me borrow her favorite cupcake-scented lip-gloss.

“So, are you excited for the movie?” he asks, rubbing his hand through his hair.

I nod eagerly. “I am. This is my second date ever and I haven’t been to the movies in forever.”

He grins at that. “Well, this is my first date ever, so be gentle with me.”

My jaw drops. “You’ve never been on a date?” I ask, surprised. “But you’ve been with so many girls.”

He shrugs. “I’ve never dated any of them, though. I’ve never been interested in dating before.” He honest to God blushes at that.

I try to hold back my satisfied smile, but I know it shows anyway. I skip over, grabbing his hand and let him lead me out of the room and to his car. Settling into the seat, I watch as he walks around to the other side.

The only times I’ve gone to the movies were with Enzo and sometimes a couple of his guys would tag along. I’m excited to go with a guy closer to my age who is interested in me and less likely to get me kicked out of the theater.

Sloane pays for the tickets before ordering a big tub of popcorn and a huge soda to share. I’m practically bouncing up and down when the usher directs us to the right theater.

When we get there, it’s practically empty with just a few people speckled in groups and pairs throughout the room, since the movie has been out for a while. Sloane leads me to a pair of seats near the middle of the theater. As soon as we sit down, the lights dim and commercials begin to play. Looks like we just made it on time.

While we don’t talk during the movie, there’s something so intimate about cuddling up next to each other in the dark. We share popcorn and a drink, sending each other small smiles and grins every once in a while. About halfway through the movie, Sloane wraps his arm around my shoulders, pulling me into his side, where I stay until the lights turn back on.

It takes a while for my eyes to readjust to the light. The movie was more of a thriller than a horror movie, but it was really good either way and it was pretty realistic. The girl’s stalker killed her family and make it look like an accident, and years later, she married him, not realizing who he was. The last twenty minutes of the movie were her finding evidence he kept of his crimes and her trying to get away from him. The only thing I couldn’t understand was why he would keep evidence when he’d gotten away with it.

Sloane stands up, dusting his jeans off before holding his hand out to help me to my feet. A shiver goes down my spine when he pulls me up and I find myself chest to chest with him. I still find it strange to know that these extremely attractive guys like me. Well, Zane, Sloane, and Nox do. I’m pretty sure Cain just wants to fuck me.

Sloane, oblivious to my thoughts, tucks my hair behind my ear and leans down to press a soft kiss to my lips. I don’t know what kind of fertilizer these boys were given, but I’d need a stepladder if I ever wanted to steal a kiss from any of them. My mother’s short Italian genes really came out in me. I stopped growing in eighth grade. Even with heels, I will never reach six feet. My little stature of five foot two and a half has failed me.Yes, the half inch really does matter!

I bite Sloane’s bottom lip just to punish him for being a giant. He groans into the kiss before pulling away. His brows rest low over his eyes as he narrows them at me. “Come on. I need to feed you and get you home before you convince me to fuck you right here where anyone can see.”

More shivers go down my spine at the thought. I think Zane’s been rubbing off on me. I’ve caught him leaving the door cracked at their house a few times now, and either Sloane or Cain will sometimes peek in. I mean, I guess it makes sense for an artist to be into exhibitionism. I’ve never considered the idea of being watched like that before though, and I can’t deny that I find it super hot, especially when it’s one of the other guys watching.

That makes me think of the thing Nox requested when I offered him anything he wanted. First thing he requested was to put a video camera in my room. I agreed to not tell Zane because of obvious reasons. He admitted to stalking me on the security cameras after the whole Luca debacle. However, I wonder if he had been doing it for a while before that as I consider how he found me at the cafe with that one random guy he insists was hitting on me.

Sloane’s fingers lace with mine, drawing me out of my internal debates. “Come on. I’ve got a place I want to take you to grab some dinner. It’s nothing fancy or anything, so don’t get all excited.”

I let him pull me out of our theater. We throw away our empty cup and popcorn tub at the door. I wrap my arm around his waist andlean into him as we head toward the exit. Unfortunately, we’re stopped before we get there.

Carol calls out to Sloane with a gaggle of girls around her. I’m surprised to find Sandy among them. Carol must be in the same sorority she joined. Sloane stiffens his spine. His arm wrapped around my shoulders pulls me in even closer. “Sloane, what are you doing here?” she asks when she finally has his attention.

Her finger twirls in her blonde hair and she pretends not to notice me. “I’m on a date,” Sloane says blandly.
