In a village where nothing ever happens, she’s the one thing he never saw coming.

After a bruising breakup and years of city chaos, detective sergeant Maeve Gallagher retreats to the tiny seaside village of Cloonmara, where the most urgent calls involve missing sheep, broken fences, and a stubborn bull with a habit of wandering.
All she wants is peace. A fresh start.

No complications.
But Cloonmara has other plans.

Aidan Lynch, the single dad farmer with a crooked smile, too much charm, and a daughter who’s wrapped him around her little finger, is everything Maeve isn’t: open, rooted… impossible to keep at arm’s length.
As Maeve and Aidan give in to their uncontrollable attraction and start a friends-with-benefits relationship filled with secret shenanigans in the village (and in the barn), something stirs in Cloonmara, making Maeve the target of a sinister threat from her past. Aidan soon realises that keeping his heart locked away isn’t working anymore.

Can he convince Maeve that staying is the best way to protect her heart?
She came to forget the past.
He’s still learning to live with his.
