“I can’t believe this is really happening.” I admit, my voice shaking. “My father would have done anything to stop this, you know.”

Rosa nods, taking one of my hands and squeezes it. “Your father has a lot of love for you, and sometimes love can be misplaced with rage toward another. That’s what’s happening here. He’d die to keep you safe, but what he fails to realize is my brother would do the same. The love he has for you is as much rare as it is precious.”

Wow, that was beautiful.

I swallow the lump in my throat and nod.

She’s absolutely right.

Razor loves me with a fierce, all-consuming passion.

He’s saved me in more ways than one, and while my father fails to realize it, I wasn’t lying.

Razor saved my life, and if it weren’t for him, I would’ve overdosed in a ditch somewhere.

God, so much has changed over the last few months.

How in the fuck am I clean?

How do I not even ache for my next fix?

In a way, maybe Razor is my drug of choice.

Axel pokes his head through the door, of the tent Rosa helped me get ready in. “Bum-Bum-Ba-Bum, it’s time.”

Rosa and I laugh at his tune.

My heart flutters uncontrollably as I realize this is really happening.

I’m only minutes away from marrying the love of my life.

I take a deep breath and step outside.

The sun filters through the dusty air, shining on the red sand with spots of golden light.

God, this is more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.

Razor stands at the makeshift altar, black shirt open to reveal tanned skin and rippling muscles, his long dark beard perfectly kept.

The second our eyes meet, my breath catches in my throat.

Our connection is undeniable, something so palpable, so magnetic.

I walk toward him nervous as all hell.

My legs tremble, sand shifting under my feet with each step.

By the time I reach him, happy tears begin to blur my vision.

His calloused fingers brush my cheeks, wiping the tears away. “Don’t cry, Cola. Today is a happy day. The happiest day of our fuckin’ lives.” His gravelly voice is so comforting to me.

“I know,” I nod, whispering. “I’m just so incredibly happy.”

He smiles, slow and sweet, and runs his fingertips against my cheek.

The love in his eyes takes the very breath out of my lungs.

This is it.
