Jada finishes buckling her seatbelt, “Sorry, I had to park in the sun.”

I wave my hand in dismissal. “It’s no big deal. It won’t feel so bad in a minute.”

Jada cranks up the AC and backs out of the parking spot. “So tell me everything! How’s life in Mexico? Is it like a never-ending vacation? How are things with you and Razor,” she pauses, wiggling her eyebrows. “Since your dad came home and told us you were dating him!”

I grin at the mere thought of him, but a pang of guilt hits me in the stomach. “Firstly, I’m sorry I didn’t say anything, but I was trying to not have Dad do what he did.”

She glances over with a cocked brow. “You mean act like an overprotective heathen?”

Of course, she knows what happened.

Nodding, I confirm. “Yep, that about sums it up. But, Razor treats me so good. He told me he loved me a while ago. It’s just been . . . so fucking perfect. He’s a dream, Jada.”

“Ooooh! I know the feeling all too well. I felt the same way about Armor.” Jada squeals. “It’s hard to believe my niece is dating one of the guys from a club, though. If anything, I thought you’d try to stay away from dating anyone in the club.”

I laugh, rolling my eyes. “Yeah, well, what can I say? I was drawn to him like a moth to a flame.”

Jada’s smile falters. “Not to be devil’s advocate or anything,”

I know what she’s about to do.

She’s going to try and defend my father.

Whipping my head to the left, I look right at her. “So don’t. Dad and I have our issues right now. Issues he could have fixed if he wasn’t so damn stubborn all the time,” I pause, licking my lips. “He doesn’t want me to be with anyone, and the fact it’s with aman who’s older than me, plus in his club is a huge issue for him. I know that, okay?”

Jada smiles reassuringly at me. “I’m hoping with some time he’ll come around.”

Shaking my head, I shoot that idea down. “You know that won’t happen. I just . . . I need him to accept the fact I’m happy with Razor. I don’t need him to be buddies with him, you know? Just be happy that I’m happy, taken care of, loved.”

She smiles sadly at me, “I know what you’re saying, and I’ll do what I can to help you.”

As much as I’d love for her to be able to help me, I don’t know if she’s going to be able to.

We all know my father is stubborn, and he’s not going to change his mind so easily.

For the rest of the ride, we talk about silly bullshit, like what’s been going on in the Satan’s Raiders MC’s clubhouse.

Fury’s engaged to a woman named Chloe, while Breaker’s got an ol’ lady too.

It really seems like love is in the air, so you’d think my father would cut me some slack.

We finally make it to the Satan’s Raider’s MC’s clubhouse, pulling into the alleyway behind the club and park.

Jada smiles brightly, “Home sweet home,”

As we get out of the car, the deep rumbles of bikes are growing closer.

Turning, a group of bikers cruise down the alleyway and park under the awning.

Jada nudges me. “Would you look who it is,”

I shade my eyes, narrowing them until I finally spot my father.

He spots me and veers over, braking hard as he parks next to Jada’s car.

He climbs off his Harley, a soft smile playing on his lips. “Hey there, kiddo,”

I walk up to him and he pulls me against his chest, trapping me in a strong hug. “Hey,” I mutter softly.
