My heart gave a little flutter. This informant was a menace. I didn’t want whoever it was to go after anyone else like he had done to me.
“If it means exposing him and catching him while you try to save your park? Then, yes. I think it’s a great idea.”
Maddox revealed a relieved smile, as though he’d truly been concerned over my opinion. That meant a lot. I was touched, well and truly.
Below the table, my hand found Hawk’s and squeezed it. I could never have imagined having someone like Hawk, but he also had incredible friends. These men were loyal. They had each others’ backs.
“When are you going to do this?” Hawk asked.
“I still have to run it past Duncan,” Maddox said. “But I’m hoping to launcheverything by May.”
May. He’d be presenting this scheme in just a few more months.
Fair enough. I would stay far away from Wonderland. Maddox would carry out his marketing strategy. And if all went as he hoped, this informant didn’t stand a chance.
