And that’s what stopped me from mating him.

I knew we were fated; we found each other young, so that gives us time to build a relationship of trust and hopefully love.

As I got out of the shower, I dried off and moved quietly to get dressed, then went out to the kitchen and found Julius sitting at the island.

“Hey, brother.” He waved and smiled at me. “How’s things?”

“Good. Nolan is asleep.” I grabbed a mug from the cabinet and poured a cup of coffee. “I’m thinking he needs the rest.”

“I wouldn’t doubt it.” He tossed his phone down. “Flynn told me some of the shit that’s been done to Nolan. Man, I really want to beat some Grimclaw ass.”

“We’ll get our chance.” I nodded and took a sip of the hot brew. “I whipped Simon’s ass again yesterday. My thought is his dad ain’t gonna let that fly.”

“Hold up.” He sat back on the stool. “After you whipped his ass in front of his pack, he showed back up for round two?”

I nodded and leaned against the back counter. “I don’t know what he thinks his hold is on Nolan.”

“Well, have no worries. I’m here today.” Julius got up and came over to refill his mug. “So get gone.”

I tilted my head and looked at my best friend. “I know you’re not talking to your alpha that way.”

“Ha!” He elbowed me. “You ain’t my alpha…yet.”

I took a deep breath and glanced at the doorway. “Maybe I should check on him?”

“Get. Out.” Julius took the mug from my hand and shoved me around the island, through the kitchen and towards the front door. “He’ll be safe.”

A growl accompanied my snarl. “Fine.”

I grabbed my backpack, went back for my phone, then went out the back door, grumbling the entire way to my car.

Once I stuck the key into the ignition, a knock on the window startled me. Our pack leader, Dillon, motioned for me to open the window.

“Drive me to my place?”

“Sure, get in.” I rolled my window back up as he went around and slid into my passenger seat.

“You know what I need to talk to you about.” He put his seatbelt on.

I did the same and then started the car. “Simon Scott?” I shrugged.

“Simon Scott.” He half smiled with his nod. “As much as it thrills me that he got the ass kicking he deserved, hearing it happened twice?” Half his face scrunched up. “That causes some problems.”

“Like?” I pulled out of the driveway and drove down the block.

“Lane wants to have a meeting with you.”

I turned onto his road and drove up to his house. “When?”

“This evening.” He turned to face me. “And Nolan needs to be there.”

“No.”

“Sebastian.”

“No.” I repeated, firmer. “I’m not making him see them.”

“Bas.” He sighed. “I’m on your side. But we need to do the meeting and stop a pack war from happening.”
