“We had an agreement before Pedro’s Rejects lost their leader. Their new one is a piece of work. I have a gentleman’s deal with him, but I don’t trust it. I don’t think it’s the last we are going to see of them. I have confidence in my men. We will take each threat as it comes.”

“Does it bother you? You’ve survived war just to wage it on the streets?”

“No, baby girl. Some men want nothing more than to go to work, collect a paycheck and live in a peaceful society. There are other men who are born to protect that way of life. They keep watch from the outside of the pack, stepping in when the wolves attack. Most of the time, the battles are hidden away, and people go about their days without ever knowing they were in danger. War is waged on our streets every day. Gangs, drugs, violence… and sometimes, good men have to step in to protect the ones we love. Spartan men are the sheepdogs. We will always be ready.”

Trinity leaned back and rested his chin on his chest. He lowered his head and kissed the top of her forehead. “I’m glad you are a sheepdog, even if protecting us means putting your life in danger.”

“You give me something to live for, to come home to. I’m a little more careful now, because of you. I love you, Trinity.”

“I love you, too. I’ve loved you since the day we met. You are my soulmate. I’m just sorry it took half a century to find you.”

“Better late than never.”

Trinity nestled closer, her ear pressed to his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart. “Your heart is beating for me, Daddy,” she said.

“Every beat, every breath, for my Little Rabbit," he vowed, sealing the promise with a kiss to her forehead.

She laid there for a few minutes in the safety of his arms before teasing, “You know Daddy, I was thinking, maybe I need my own bike. Maybe a hog…”

“Are you wanting a spanking, Little Rabbit?” He wrapped his arms tightly around her chest. “The only bike you are riding is mine, with me at the helm. Little girls don’t drive motorcycles.”

She might not ever get her own motorcycle, but with Lucky by her side, she was ready to ride into the unknown, to face down demons and to chase down dreams. Together, they would navigate the treacherous terrain of love and loyalty, dominance, and submission, in a world that asked for everything and promised nothing but the ride of a lifetime.

EPILOGUE

Trinity couldn't contain her excitement as she moved around the brand-new Day & Night with a sense of purpose, arranging tables and setting out plates of delicacies fit for their special tea party lunch. Each detail was meticulously planned, from the flower-shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to the colorful macarons and cups of rainbow fruit salad.

Lucky watched her with a fond smile, his eyes shining with pride. “You ready?” he asked.

“I am!” Trinity exclaimed, bouncing on the balls of her feet with childlike excitement. Today was going to be perfect, she could feel it in her bones.

“Come here, Little Rabbit,” Lucky called out, motioning her toward him. Trinity scurried over eagerly, her heart fluttering with anticipation.

Turning her around, Lucky gently removed her black apron and laid it aside before handing her a white cardboard box with a pink bow. “Open it,” he instructed, a hint of excitement in his voice.

Carefully removing the bow and lifting the lid, Trinity felt tears prickling at the corners of her eyes as she beheld thecontents of the box. Inside lay the most beautiful dress she had ever seen, a vintage 1950s tea dress in a soft dusty rose color, with delicate white stripes and large pink roses adorning the skirt. She knew the A-line design and swing skirt would look perfect on her curves.

“Go put it on,” Lucky encouraged, a smile playing at the corners of his lips as he directed her toward the bathroom.

With a quick nod, Trinity rushed into the bathroom, her heart racing with excitement. As she slipped out of her work clothes and donned the dress, she felt a sense of transformation wash over her. The dress hugged her curves in all the right places, and as she twirled in front of the mirror, she couldn't help but feel like a princess. She pulled her hair down from its bun and arranged it in two braids, one on each side of her face.

She slowly turned around to the full-length mirror behind her and gasped at her reflection. She’d never felt this beautiful in her life. Unable to help herself, she spun around and around, allowing the flair of the dress to rise up with her.

Rushing back out to Lucky, Trinity threw herself into his arms, her eyes shining with joy. “Thank you, Daddy. Oh, thank you!” she exclaimed, her voice filled with gratitude.

Lucky chuckled as he held her close. “You're welcome, Little Rabbit. You look absolutely stunning,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to her forehead.

But their tender moment was interrupted by a knock at the front door, and Trinity's heart skipped a beat as she saw her best friend Delilah standing outside, wearing the exact same dress in a pale-yellow hue.

“Daddy...did you?” Trinity began, her eyes widening in surprise.

“I know how much you two like to twin,” Lucky replied with a shrug, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.

Without hesitation, Trinity rushed to the door and pulled Delilah into a tight hug, her heart overflowing with love and gratitude. They’d talked on the phone but hadn’t seen each other since the fire. Delilah held on to her. “I was so scared!” Delilah confessed.

“Nothing to be ‘fraid of with our Daddies around,” Trinity said, fully embracing her little.

The chime over the door let Trinity know another friend was there. Breaking the hug, she turned to welcome them. Mia came spinning into the room in an identical baby blue dress. Soon after, Kayla arrived in lavender, Veronica in pale green.

“Daddy!” Trinity laughed, clasping her hands. “We all match!”

“We need a picture!” Mia declared, handing her cell phone to Mitch.

“Absolutely, you do!” Mitch agreed, shooing the girls together. They all gathered around Mia’s phone to look at the picture. It was adorable.

“There!” Mia said. “I’ve texted it to our group chat. Now, I don’t know about you, but I really want a cookie!”

As each girl took a stop at the table, Trinity looked around with a full heart. Today was going to be a day to remember, a celebration of friendship and love, surrounded by the people who mattered most. Trinity couldn't help but feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
