Nikolai chuckles, “Only today?” He teases, pulling the comforter back to get in, then frowning. I’m aware my t-shirt has ridden up, my underwear on full display. Which is why I wrapped the covers tighter around me. But now there’s no going back. “Is that all you’re wearing?” He asks with a whisper.

“Yeah.”

“I only have so much self-control, Camilla.” I smirk at that. “You’re going to fucking kill me.”

“It would be a good way to die, don’t you think?”

He slides into bed next to me, using his arm to pull me into him until my ass is pressed to his hard dick. “No.” He murmurs, kissing my neck softly. “I could think of a better way to go.”

I grin, “I bet you could.”

“Ignore him, please.” He groans. “I swear I’ll behave.”

“Alright,” I giggle. “Behave,stronzo.”

“I like when you call me an asshole,” he jokes. “It’s cute.”

“Wanna watch the movie?” I ask him with my sleepy voice, the exhaustion washing over me again. “It’s Scream.”

“I can see that, princess,” he replies, “But I want to watch you instead. So turn over.”

I flip over to face him, our heads on the same pillow, and look into his silver eyes. They look slightly darker tonight, which could just be a trick of the light, but I love it when they’re a deep gray that I get lost in.

Nikolai leans in and kisses the tip of my nose. His lips are soft, and his hands roam over my back, to my ass, and then back up again. I moan when his hand grips a handful of my ass, a sound I couldn’t control if I wanted to, and he groans. The way he’s looking at me makes me feel as if I can no longer breathe. Like my chest could explode right now as my breaths quicken and my face heats.

“Question three hundred,” he says, “If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?”

I don’t even hesitate. “Being Italian, so we could be together.”

His grin lights up my world. “Mine would be not being yours.”

I pout. “I thought youweremine?”

“You know what I mean.” He huffs. “Really mine. Forever.”

“Can we not do this tonight? I’m tired.”

“Camilla.”

I love it when he calls me that, but then again, I love everything he does. I lovehim. So why, then, does it feel like he’s fighting with me? “Is this our first fight, Nik?”

“I’m getting us out of this, one way or another.”

“Out of what?”

“I’m going to marry you.” His eyes twinkle when he says it. “I promise you, I’ll make it happen.”

“Don’t make promises you can’t keep,” I whisper.

“Have I ever failed you, princess?”

“Never.”

“And Ineverwill.”

Maybe my biggest mistake is that I believe him.

Moving Camilla into the apartment is proving to be a challenging task, bigger than I initially anticipated. Her friends seem to be home more than anticipated, not to mention she has way more stuff than I thought. I’m beginning to think we will need a larger place, although she assured me we can make it work. It’s not that I don’t have enough money for a bigger place, I just don’t want to leave this apartment. We both love it so much. The private beach is a special place for us—or at least it was before she drowned in it.
