“Nothing,” Scott said quickly. Too quickly.

Rubbing his temples, Michael wished he could just let it go and maybe head to his room for a nap. Instead, he had to be the responsible one and dig into his brother’s behavior.

“Tell me,” Michael said firmly.

“I…” Scott finally set his book down. “I might have applied to more than just the state school.”

This had already been decided. Both twins had put off college for a year so the three of them could work and the twins would be able to afford college. Michael had missed so much when he’d taken custody of his brothers when he’d only been eighteen. After his parents died, there had been very little money and most of that had gone to the funeral expenses. Why funerals were so damn expensive Michael would never understand. “We talked about—”

“Hear him out,” James interrupted. He gave Michael a look that keyed Michael in that he might be missing something.

“I’m sorry, Scott. Go ahead.”

Scott fidgeted for a few moments before he nodded and pushed his shoulders back. “One of my professors helped me fill out an application for the school that he attended and that has the best marine biology research program.”

Michael knew where Scott’s passion lay but they wouldn’t be able to afford that. It also wasn’t practical when they didn’t live anywhere near the ocean.

“I was accepted in the program,” Scott blurted out.

“That’s wonderful,” Michael replied carefully. He didn’t want to break his brother’s heart or dim his enthusiasm. Scott was smarter than the rest of them and had worked hard in school until he was at the top of his class. Even with scholarships and grants, it would have been hard for him to go to a university right away, but they would have managed. Michael and James had been willing to work more but Scott had refused. He’d been adamant that he would help pay his way and had instead only taken a few classes at the local community college. Out of state University would be nearly impossible though.

“We figured out how to do it,” James told him. He pushed out his chest proudly. Scott smiled at his twin.

Oh no. Michael was not going to like this. James did his best to help them, but he also came up with some insane ideas. “Go on.”

Scott cleared his throat. Maybe this wouldn’t be too bad if Scott had thought it out. Michael waited as patiently as he could.

“Professor Adams contacted a friend in Surf City that rents a garage apartment to students. She was able to get me a discount and it will be cheaper than living in the dorms there. Tuition and books will be covered by the scholarships and grants.”

“But we both know that you’ll still need money. Food, clothing, other things that will come up.”

“That’s why I’m going with him. I’ll get a job, hell, I’ll get two jobs, and I’ll pay for everything else in exchange for staying in the garage apartment. All the utilities are included, including internet, because it’s tied into the main house.”

“The professor’s friend has already approved James living there with me to help with money.”

It all sounded too good to be true. “What if something else comes up and—”

“Then we’ll figure it out,” James said. “Together, the three of us.”

“It does sound like a great opportunity,” Michael reluctantly agreed. “I worry though—”

James laughed, cutting him off. “You always worry. I don’t think that’s going to change, but this will be good for you too.”

“Good for me?” Michael asked. He was losing his brothers. The two most important people in his life. The only family he had left.

“Now you don’t have to do the walk of shame when you come home in the mornings. You can just move in with your boss…I mean boyfriend.” James smirked at him.

In response, Michael rolled his eyes before he flipped his brother off. All in all, his brothers had been more than understanding about his job. Working in a kink club? Yeah, not many would be proud of that fact, but his brothers had simply shrugged and told him they hoped the tips were good. The tips were fantastic, but Michael also made a decent wage. All the servers there did. Master Finn took care of his people.

Not only did he make good money, but Michael’s employment came with membership to the club. He’d been nervous at first, but eventually Michael found a community that called to him.

Michael was a little, and while it was something that he didn’t advertise, all the most important people, his brothers, friends, and Master Finn and Jackson, all accepted him.

He’d been most concerned about his brothers finding out somehow. He’d made sure they could never get into the club since they were underage, but James wasn’t above using a fake ID to get in where he shouldn’t be. In the end it had been Michael leaving his little toy chest sticking out from under his bed that had gotten him busted. Of course, James had seen that and popped the lid open to find Michael’s diapers, pacifiers, and toys.

It had been hilarious when James had accused him of having a secret love child. Even though Michael had come out as gay when he was fifteen. After a lot of embarrassment, he’d had to explain to James, and of course Scott wanted to know, so he told his brothers about age regression and being a little.

They hadn’t laughed. Not even James had teased him. Scott had shrugged and said it made sense as Michael had to give up his childhood to raise them. He’d also offered the suggestion that the last time Michael had been able to rely on someone had been when he was little, and their grandparents were around. James had just wanted to play with his toys and had pouted that Michael had been hiding the new Lego set.
