“Application for a name change?” he mumbles under his breath. Mac and I look at one another with smiles on our faces as he flips through each application. Only when he sees the name on the first social security card does it seem to register on his face. The papers start to shake in his hold as he rapidly flips through each card. When he reaches the last one, I watch as a tear falls from his eye and lands on the piece of paper.

Looking up at us with tears in his eyes, he says the most beautiful name I ever could have imagined. “Harper Donovan-McDermott.”

Mac claps him on the shoulder. “Yeah, man. Harper Donovan-McDermott.”

My hand reaches out to grab his other shoulder. “And you’re looking at Ronan and Cormac Donovan-McDermott.”

He looks between us in disbelief. “You—you guys changed your name? For me?”

After we proposed to Harper, our original plan was to each keep our own last names, but then Harper came to Mac and me a few days later and suggested this idea. She told us that while she valued her last name, she was more than comfortable giving it up.

“Hayes isn’t my parent’s real name. It’s nothing more than an identity they created to hide from the evil that was after them. I know it’s who I’ve been since I was born, but this is who I am now. Who I want to be for the rest of my life. I can’t legally marry all of you, but I can change my name. We can change our name.”

Mac and I were on board immediately. Finn was our brother, and we knew how important it was for him to keep his last name. We wanted to do this for him. For us.

“Yeah, Finny. We did.”

“D—does Harper know about this?”

“Who’s idea do you think it was?”

A strangled sob leaves Finn’s lips. “Told you we’d make him cry,” Mac says as he elbows me in the ribs.

Finn smiles so wide it damn near breaks his face. “I can’t believe you guys did this for me.”

“We’d do anything for you. You’re our brother, and this is our family.”

“Don’t ever spend another moment questioning it,” Mac adds.

Finn doesn’t say anything else. He just nods, holding the papers in his hand as if they were his most prized possession. And as the three of us stand there in our matching suits, I can’t help but feel like this is where I was always meant to be.

Here, with my brothers, about to marry the love of our lives.

Harper Donovan-McDermott.

She is my home.

My peace. My life. My heart. My Baby.

Every moment in my life has led me to her. In this life and every life after, wherever she is is where I’m meant to be—where we are meant to be.

“Let’s go marry our girl. Shall we, boys.”

Harper

“Harper, Honey, you look so beautiful.” Emma closes my door and stands in front of me, eyes full of tears and hands clasped over her heart.

I would give anything to be able to have my mom and Cece here with me today, helping me get ready, zipping up my dress, clasping my necklace, and sneaking me a glass of wine to calm my racing heart. But even though they aren’t with me physically, I know they’re here. And they would be so happy that I have a woman like Emma here to watch over me.

I wave my hands in front of my face. “Stop. You’re going to make me cry.”

“Oh, please. I’ve been crying all day. Just ask Pascal.”

My chest warms at the thought of Emma finally finding the man she deserves. One that will move heaven and hell to give her everything she wants and to keep her safe, rather than one she needed to find safety from. She’s an amazing woman who’s raised three amazing men. She deserves everything good in life, and I’m so happy she’s found that in Pascal.

While Mac and Ronan still act as if they are horrified at the very notion of their mother falling in love, I know they’re secretly happy for her. Luca constantly teases them about being step-brothers now—much to their dismay.

Emma has now officially moved to Saint-Jean-de-Luz, and I think it’s safe to say I am more than excited to visit her new home in France.
